Why wouldn't I?

Why would you? I'm no insider but I've had a gut feeling that we would play bridesmaid to UGA here. Is it the opposite for you or do you have a good reason to think he'll come here? What makes you think we are in good shape? This is probably the recruit I want more than any other...give me something lol.

He's visited UT many many times (double digits I believe), even when Dooley was the coach many thought he would end up a Vol, it's the home state school, guys in the know with Nashville kids like Buck Fitzgerald have said our staff is recruiting Malone as good or better than anyone, Butch and Thigpen are his main recruiters, he announced his decision date a few days after his OV to UT for the UGA game, many of his friends are on the team/current Vol commits (particularly D. Barnett who is said to be a close friend), our new offense uses many WR's (up to 8-9 a game), he's seen plenty of opportunity to play early at UT, he's been to practices and seen that Ferguson and Dobbs are the future, Dobbs was his guide on his OV, Butch gets it, many analysts have picked UT (including Mike Farrell who's said UT all along), 79% to UT on 247's crystal ball predictions, I'm sure there's more.

How's that?

Good, thank you. I gave you a like. I've never seen all the positive info on him consolidated before and I wasn't aware that there was so much going in our favor (or at least perceived to be). Want this guy bad and it would be awesome to get him and watch Georgia cry.

Wow. That's a pretty compelling list. I'll just add he's
seen North's success as evidence of a true freshman
WR's success.

No worries, Butch is going to win this battle.

I just got home from the Station Camp at Hendersonville game. This was the second time I've seen SCHS this year and I'll have to say that Josh Malone is a beast. My wife was even saying how he looked like he was just playing with one kid on a touchdown run.

I spoke to a longtime coach recently and he said that Malone is the most talented high school wide receiver he has ever seen play in the state of Tennessee in his 40 plus years in high school football.

"Senior standout Josh Malone scored all three Station Camp touchdowns and the Bison held off a late Hendersonville charge in capturing the District 9-AAA title with a 21-14 victory Friday night at Memorial Field. . . . Malone finished with seven catches for 100 yards and five carries for 36 yards.

. . . . [Malone scored the first touchdown on a 15-yard strike] from Kyle Anderton to Malone to put Station Camp up 7-0. The Bison scored again with 35 seconds remaining before halftime as Malone took an end around 15 yards for a 14-0 lead. [After a 16-play, 66-yard touchdown drive by Hendersonville to open the second half, which closed the score to 14-7,] Malone had catches of 13 and 15 yards to set up his second running TD — a 17-yard scamper on an end around to push the lead to 21-7" (http://www.tennessean.com/article/20131101/SPORTS07/311010214).

So after Malone we will have not only the best WR in the state but the best RB in the state, the states #1 overall prospect, and the #1 DB in the state. Butch is owning the state of Tennessee.

See the crazy thing is that we had ALL of those things as soon as Hurd committed. I'd even go so far as to say that Hurd is the #1 DL and TE prospect in the state this year based on athleticism and size alone.

Had all 3 touchdowns in a 21-14 win against us.. 1st TD was a good catch, the other 2 were pretty simple sweep runs in or close to the red zone. Great player tho, could tell he was a man amongs boys, but needs a lot of work before he see's the field against an SEC defense.

SC needed a 1st down to close out the game. Threw to him on a slant on 2nd and 10, and then on 3rd and 10, both drops... Forced them to punt with 2 minutes left and made for a nail biter finish.

The fact that Malone is the #3 WR and Hurd is the #4 RB in the country is also impressive. Great to see the talent continue to improve in Tennessee.
