'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Battled woth Chad Mavety yesterday. Scout said they went back and forth. One analyst said that they could see Lambert as a first and second down DE, but on 3rd down would probably need to move down or come out. Tifwiw

Not a problem, just move him in. It's more useful to move someone in during 3rd down like Lambert. Middle pass-rush is essential.

That's the plan he was recruited under imo...best of both worlds...would maintain the promise of him playing DE

Exactly, a 4-3 creates advantages through packages. We're going to play different guys at different places. I love Cory Thomas for this reason.

Exactly. LSU has guys who never started that are now in the NFL getting starting snaps. I think the Titans just signed one. IMO you sign 4-5 dl a year, every year.

I agree with signing talented D lineman until you can't anymore. If in doubt between that and a wide receiver take the D lineman. In regards to Lambert, sounds like he would be perfect for a smurf package D tackle on 3rd and long. I loved that look last week in the Georgia game on 3rd and long. Actually, wish they would do something similiar with the backers like maybe put in JRM to spy this week on Shaw on 3rd and medium or long.

A pass breakup? Impressive.

I would assume he batted it down at the line if scrimmage, although the thought of him fighting off a blocker, turning 180, and streaking down the field just in time to make leaping Dikembe Mutumbo like swat sounds a bit more entertaining

That's exactly what I'm going with. Sounds like he put his 400m speed to good use IMO.

Not sure if he knows something we don't but I like the sound of it.......
