We're inconsistent as hell on offense, suffering from a sizable talent gap against top 25 teams, even worse depth, implementing new offense and defense, adjusting from bad coaching to good coaching.. I think Barnhart summed it up before our first game.. "Solid at ol and question marks everywhere else" I'm finally not worried whether we will bring the fight and keep it there for 60 minutes tho. That's a start. Butch sure as hell had his work cut out for him.

That is exactly why I think we will be very good very soon and playing for SEC and or National titles. With everything you mentioned, we are still hanging right with teams who were expected to compete for the SEC this year(uga/usce). With the 2014 class shaping up and the 2015 class already looking VERY good, we are going to get there pretty quick talent wise IMO. It's going to happen.

I saw us hanging with 3 fla ga sc teams that looked like maybe a 20-25 ranked team. Encouraging but you could argue that the east just sucks this year.

Seems most of the elite coaches that have taken over major programs in the last 20 or so years have won a title within their first 5 or so years. I think they are able to recruit at an exceptional level and take advantage of momentum. So far, Butch strikes me as being on that trajectory.

Now, to be clear, if he doesn't win big early that doesn't necessarily mean I think he's not the right guy. Most of all, I want Butch to bring stability along with winning. Tired of the coaching carousel.

Is there a stipulation that only one team per conference can be in the four team playoff? Maybe if the cards fell right two SEC teams could get in on occasion.

I think the sec demanded language to take the 2 nd ranked team in consideration considering our strength of schedule. But if it happens it will prob be teams from the same division who met each other earlier in the year, not the sec championship game loser unless that teams only loss is the sec championship game

Tn beats Bama on SEC championship
Tn faces Bama in playoff

Could be a wild scene

Yeah, that's what I was picturing...a Bama - LSU type scenario.

Yeah I didn't think of yearly cross divisionals being good in the same year and meeting twice. Could set up a third.. I don't think the 14 member committee would go for it unless they were two close games.
