If it wasn't such a public approach it would be fine. I just don't like any hint of giving them more motivation
I'm a little late to the discussion here but I like the "red team" approach on a couple of levels.
1. It is an attempt to minimize the mystique of Alabama in the minds of our players.
2. It gets back to Alabama players and basically says "F-you". I don't mind this because we have absolutely NOTHING to lose. Everyone expects us to get whipped. You don't beat a bully by poor mouthing. At some point as a program we have to believe we belong on the field with these teams. Trash talk doesn't always motivate the opponent to play better...most of the time trash talk causes the opponent to step out of character because they allow their emotions to get the best of them. That's why guys trash talk.
