One of the biggest reasons for optimism about Tennessees future is the obvious ability of this staff to get so much improvement from so many of its players in such a short period of time.
The same quarterback (Justin Worley) who couldnt please anyone earlier this season has led two go-ahead drives in the fourth quarter against two top-15 opponents in his past two games. The same tailback (Rajion Neal) who couldnt get extra yards the past several years suddenly is grinding out plenty of yards after contact. The same wide receivers (Pig Howard and Marquez North) who couldnt make big plays when they needed to make them earlier this season now are making circus-style catches. The same kicker (Michael Palardy) who couldnt make clutch kicks to save his life is now one of the leagues better punters and kickers. The same defensive line that couldnt affect even FCS quarterbacks now is recording multiple sacks every week. The same secondary that surrendered nearly 500 passing yards at Oregon has held two of the nations best senior quarterbacks to less than 200 yards passing in its past two games. The same defense that couldnt get off the field on third down against South Alabama routinely got off the field against Georgia and South Carolina.
I think we finish 7-5. We find a way to beat Mizzou. Home field advantage and a backup QB for Vandy will mean we win that one by 10+. Kentucky will be icing on the cake.
I'm convinced Worley is going to have at least one break out game of 250 or more yards before this year is over. I think it comes against Vandy or Kentucky.
Everybody keeps talking about Spurrier being a big dumb arse there but I disagree. He went full on Riverboat gambler, hoping to end the game. Only problem was Butch threw a Royal Flush down on the table.

My biggest concern with our current team is the back end of our secondary doesn't seem athletic enough to prevent the big play.
If you guys haven't seen the Butch Jones show from this week, check it out. The 1st 5 minutes will make you run through a brick wall! Very well done.

Goh I just now got caught up in this thread. Huge win for UT. So happy for the players, especially the seniors.
No other program in the nation needed a win like this. It's been a long time coming. I thought the game plan was great. Offense was a little shaky at some points, but they stepped up when it mattered the most.
Shaw was 7-21 passing. He threw his 1st pick of the year to Sutton. Sutton kinda came back down to earth a little bit Saturday. Still made a good adjustment on the pick. Coleman did his usual. Not sure why USCe didn't try to pick on him more. I figured Davis would get his and he did. He's a bull for a RB.
Azzanni owes North a steak dinner. Damn what a catch.
Lastly, I got to the Vol Walk early enough to have a great spot. Got to high 5 Butch, most of the players, and Johnny Majors. Pretty cool
Edit: Also hats off to Marlin Lane coming back from injury. Ran tough and was really determined on the last drive.
Don't get me wrong, the catch was amazing. That's what the best players do. However, I'm equally as impressed with this catch:

He just straight beasted on him. Talk about high-pointing the ball...
Out of curiosity, why would you think Auburn would be more difficult than Mizzou? ...

Spencer Tillman, CBS College Football Analyst, just said on Montgomery radio that Bama better hold on this week or the Vols will surprise them.
