Recruiting Forum: Football Talk VIII

Great win!

Two big and successful recruiting wknds!

North making two huge plays. Wouldn't surprise if his one-handed catch is considered for an ESPY.

For me, Butch kneeling on the sideline (after Palardy's winning kick) says it all.

Love it.

On to Bama, boys!! This team believes in each other...anything is possible, and they believe they can go toe to toe with anyone. There is no doubt that they will come out and play with a ton of heart on Saturday. Just hope we can be in the game in the 4th quarter with a chance. One thing that we really have to start doing better on offense in the passing game is throw the ball in the middle of the field. We only do it about 1-2x a game it seems, and those patterns are always open and always seem to go for a big chunk of yardage...case in point, Croom's and Downs' catches in middle of field on a crossing pattern and hot read down the seam for huge gains.

Can't understand why someone would want any out of conference team to beat an SEC team--even Bama--for the NC....

You must be a transplanted Yankee--no true southern boy, SEC born and bred would pull for a "left coast" team to beat another Southern team...

I hope Fla State wins the NC if an SEC team doesn't.

Was born and raised in the south. Have lived in the south my entire life. I was born into a family where my dad was pretty much the only Tennessee fan. Have Vanderbilt fans scattered throughout but on one side i have tons of bama fans in my family. And growing up when we were losing 10 or 20 games in a row, how many ever it was, I had it rubbed in my face every year. Grew to hate the Crimson tide. Don't care who is playing them, I am rooting for the other team.

I would be fine if Bama never won another game in the history of their program. An Alabama loss is almost as good as a Tennessee win in my book. And I pull almost as hard for bama to lose every game they play as I do for Tennessee to win every game they play.

What's fun about Bama is that even if we lose, I think we can knock them out of #1 with a hard fought, four quarter effort. It's a tough call between Bama, Oregon and FSU at the moment. Any sign of stumbling by any one of them and I think they may be downgraded, even in a win. We'll see.

Thanks Ron. That USCe idiot is hilarious. He probably had to clean his face up from crying and take a few shots of cheap whiskey before he sent this one out!

Has to be a contributing factor. I hope he realizes Spurrier is the reason they are even significant.

Jacques McClendon (@jmcc65)*Talked to a teammate that got to run through T and do the Vol Walk. Butch understands how much that means to us as lettermen. Unreal. #VFL

I don't give a damn about all the other states, I'm from Tennessee.

I believe Mr North is going to garner extra attention from here on out. Those catches were insane.

I was more impressed with the catch that isn't getting as much attention. It showed a strength and physicality that was some kind of elite!

Agreed, not sure if it was because I wanted him so bad to succeed, or I was still bitter over the Kiffin departure that I was blind. He did take this program over in the darkest of times. He did a "solid" job of recruiting and was originally dealt a bad hand. He was awful as a coach though and I was a HUGE supporter (sorry). I root for anyone at the helm. However, when I realize weakness, I recognize weakness (albeit way later). CBJ is recruiting like a monster and more importantly coaching like a monster.

I always try to support our coaches and I tried to support Doofus but after the loss to KY two years ago I gave up on him. He may have been one of the worst clock managers and game personnel managers ever at UT. He had the personality of a stick. So glad he's gone!
