Recruiting Forum: Football Talk VIII

Dooley became a multi-millionaire off the destruction of the Vol program. There can never be enough bad things said about him. I don't care how many times people say "get over it".

I liked. We should all be so fortunate to be such a screw-up. Anyhow, Dooley's laughing to the bank.

Agreed, not sure if it was because I wanted him so bad to succeed, or I was still bitter over the Kiffin departure that I was blind. He did take this program over in the darkest of times. He did a "solid" job of recruiting and was originally dealt a bad hand. He was awful as a coach though and I was a HUGE supporter (sorry). I root for anyone at the helm. However, when I realize weakness, I recognize weakness (albeit way later). CBJ is recruiting like a monster and more importantly coaching like a monster.

Chavis has never been happier to eat crow about his prediction :)

Vereen and Sutton are confirmed animals.

Marquez North is going to be NASTY.

Have to feel good for Palardy. That brother has been through a lot here.

Butch Jones is that dude!

This post gets it!

GBO

Marquez North catch Number 4 in the ESPN Top 10. FTR, it's his 2nd this season.

I want to see the Top 3 then. He had two nasty catches on deep balls. He and Howard compliment each other well. Croom and Smith will be good 3rd and 4th options going forward. They should do well in those roles. North won't be single covered any more this year. He's too big and strong.

Just finished watching the game! Managed to not hear about it until I got back from my trip. AHHHHHHHH!! VOLS BUTCH! VOLS BUTCH! VOLS BUTCH!!

I wanted Dooley to be successful too. No shame in admitting it, I don't feel sorry for saying it. If he were a good coach (he wasn't) then last year's team would have won a bunch of games (it was quite talented) and he would have parlayed it into a great recruiting class. Instead of all of us still hoping we make a bowl game this year, we would be serious contenders for the East. As things stand now, we probably won't be until 2015. Missing that opportunity last year set us back. I was cheering for Dooley for that reason.

But the past is what is. And as it turns out, we are much better off with Butch Jones. So, I'm over the Dooley era.

Go Vols!

Fsu wouldn't beat Bama. That's hogwash. Fsu is over rated nationally and benefits from the majority of the ACC being out right awful.

Have you watched FSU play this year? That RS Frosh QB is tearing it up. FSU might be the only team in college football that could beat Bama. I don't believe LSU or Clemson could. Oregon could play them close, but I still think they would lose. As far as conferences, the PAC whatever number they are now isn't exactly a powerhouse this year, and neither is the SEC. A healthy gator team lost to Miami and a healthy UGA team lost to Clemson. No conference really has a sparkle this year.

The sad thing is, I think it's entirely likely Bama, Oregon, and FSU win out, leaving one team to get a final BCS screw.

Sure wish Cody Blanc would have pulled in that long ball too.

I guess everyone gets the jitters on their first big opportunity. He could have received a better ball from Worley, but no excuse for that one

We get our chance to set it all right next week

Just as hope was fading....Ron with the save.

Thanks man!
