Recruiting Forum: Football Talk VIII

I had a bookie tell me one time that the weekend just before Holloween was always a "crazy" gambling week for his business every year. I think this year it's a week early. Ole miss about to join the joyous it looks

Heard talk that all these upsets in the SEC today prove the league is weak. Could it not also prove that the league is deeper than first thought?

@rwood_SC: Clowney on Justin Worley pass on final drive: "He closed his eyes. I looked at him in the face. It was just a great throw and pass."

Clowney is such a douche.

I don't care if he threw it wearing a pink too-too and acting like Forrest Gump - it was the game breaker.

Lots of guys close their eyes for a brief second at about the time the ball is released. Nothing new. Especially if they need a little extra.

"We may not have the most talented players every week, but we can be the best team every week."

Random thought but outside of CP only a few times last year when was the last time we had a truly dynamic guy at punt returner? I'm talking someone who's a threat to house it every time. J Carter and Devrin are reliable making the catch but do very little after. It seems that's the only part of our special teams that's below avg. Palardy is kicking well in all 3 phases and our coverage units have been better but we just aren't much of a threat in the return game. I'm not hating on Carter or Devrin but do we not have someone else who could give us a spark? What about Pig? Would any of our commits be able to step in there from day one?

@patrickbrownTFP: against teams that aren't Oregon, Tennessee's defense is allowing 366 yards per game, or 105 less than last season. #Vols

Jancek > Sunseri

To be fair, most mammals with a semi-functioning brain > Sunseri

I am completely all in sold on jancek and I was more worried about him than our offensive staff.

I don't get some of the Jancek hate. The D is worlds better. I'm not too critical of either of the coordinators right now because its obvious they are handcuffed at times.

its clear to me after taking this all in that Posey and Dallas along with Sousa were the reason we were being held back.

NCAA College Football Recap - South Carolina Gamecocks at Tennessee Volunteers - Oct 19, 2013 - CBSSports.com

Love the commentary at the bottom. We beat South Carolina and it proves the SEC is overrated. OK....

You know you have a dominant conference when every game is some sort of bizarre measuring stick on the conference's overall strength. No other conference gets treated like that. It's the same on ESPN. When they posted about the new Nebraska-Oregon series, the comment thread became a de facto commentary on whether or not the SEC was willing to play tough out-of-conference teams. Just pure stupidity.

I don't know where to start about today. Awesome game day experience. Beautiful orange jerseys. Beautiful orange sunset. Even a beautiful orange full moon. I'll be hoarse for days.

Bama with another shutout.

Smh how anybody doesn't consider them elite

Sadly, I do consider them elite (oh man, I know I will get killed by many on here). Now, for the real knocker on making me a villian, they beat Oregon... I am taking cover! Mercy!
