Just one minor addition with respect to the USA game. Successful adjustments most definitely were made; they simply didn't occur at halftime. USA took the ball on the opening drive and drove the length of the field for a touchdown; they didn't threaten for the rest of the first half. Their second possession resulted in an interception, followed by five consecutive possessions which terminated with punts (South Alabama Jaguars vs. Tennessee Volunteers - Drivechart - September 28, 2013 - ESPN).

I get you, but the question raised was about halftime adjustments. In my mind, you should be constantly adjusting. It's just that the half gives you time to reorient much more of your strategy.

Thoughts on how the 2015 numbers work out?

"If I'm Tennessee and I have 20 next year, I go...

QB - 1 (Maybe 2 depending on how this year shapes out and if anyone leaves after this season)
RB - 2 (no doubt two and maybe 3 if they don't get a third this year.)
WR - 3 (This could go to two if they get the right guys this year, but I think it is three).
TE - 1 (this could be 0 or 1, I think it depend on if Neiko Creamer is a TE or not).
OL - 3 (I'm with you on this one).

DT- 3 (At least 3. Try and get as many good ones as you can.)
DE - 2 (I really want the numbers to work out to take three here, somewhere)
LB - 2 (Another place I would want to take 3. I think they could get away with two if they bring in five linebackers this year.)
CB - 2 (Think this is spot on)
S - 1 (Always take a safety, they could always grow into a LB or play nickel or something).
ATH - (I would always just try and take the fastest guy in Florida regardless of his size. Use him on special teams and get him 3 or for carries/catches a game. Or maybe he's an undersized but speedy corner. Whatever it is I'm going to watch game film of every HS game in the Dade County area and find me a fast 3-star that usually ends up at West Virginia or Rurgers or something like that and take him).

Speed, speed, speed, everywhere. That's what I focus on and agree, stack the lines of scrimmage. Build depth there. "

Not saying it wouldn't happen without me seeing it. Saying I wouldn't believe unless I saw it. Two different things.

They're giving you a hard time, but I don't believe it either. Not only is his 100m time much slower than that of the typical sub 4.4 runner, but the fastest laser timed 40 at the combine is a 4.24. It's not a knock on Gault to disbelieve he runs a sub 4.3 40 at the age of 48. As for the article being cited as if it's indisputable evidence, you'll notice there's no mention of any type of verification. I'd bet everything I own that was timed with a stopwatch.

What do y'all think about usce vs ark tomorrow? It's an early kickoff just like it'll be next weekend in Neyland. I've gotta feeling usce loses. I hope I'm wrong and they win a hard fought emotional type game similar to uga's win before coming to Neyland or either win big and come in too confident.

Either way, I just hope they win tomorrow. I'd much rather them win than to come to Knox pissed off after a loss (kinda like uf after losing to Miami before they played us). Plus, it would make beating them that much sweeter. If they lose to ark, it may not feel like as big of a win if we beat them next week. Anyone else feel the same?

One other thing, I really hope Clowney is 100% vs us. I wanna see Tiny own him after how things ended last year. How awesome would it be for us to win and see Tiny's stock rise and halfass Clowney's stock fall? Tiny has had this game circled for a year now. Potentially millions of dollars on the line for him next week. Butch should just let him give the pregame speech. He'll have this team fired up fo sho.

Just saw another thread about Dallas leaving the team and someone implied it was bc of marijuana. I didn't read the entire thread but saw what was posted about him and Posey leaving earlier in this thread. He's the one making the decision to leave the team and nothing more, right?

Yes... They weren't ran off or kicked off the team. They are transferring so they have better opportunities elsewhere.

Some will call it "trimming the fat".

BS! You cannot correlate 100m time to 40 time. I sit right next to a guy at work that out ran Megatron in the 40 at GT while running track for them. He'll be the first to tell you while he was fast off the block; he usually gassed too soon running the 100m. Same with guys that start out slow and finish strong.

I thought I saw a report earlier from Ron or someone which said Posey was gone and it would be an uphill battle for Dallas to rejoin the team. The report in addition to the timing in all this had me sort of wondering if this was all voluntary. Regardless, whether it's Couch's heat issues or whatever, I think there are some things regarding the players that the staff will, out of deference to said players, remain tight lipped about. I respect that.

Whatever happened to the guy that posted on here that was like 5-9 & weighed about 135 that could bench press about 750 pounds? I bet he could run a 3.75 40!
:)
