SKILL ASSESSMENT: Another linebacker with size and athleticism, DeBerry is one of the top junior linebackers in the country and his offer list proves that. A likely middle linebacker at the next level, DeBerry plays the game like a linebacker should, with authority and power.

STATUS WITH VOLS: Tennessee was one of the earlier teams to offer DeBerry but he's now sitting at over 40 offers. The good news for the Vols is DeBerry has already been on campus several times.

OTHERS INVOLVED: Florida, Auburn, Ohio State, Clemson, Miami, Virginia, Penn. State, Miami

He goes to my old high school. Word early in the process was that he was a lock to go out of state. He seems to be more open to UVa though recently. I think it'll be hard to beat UVa in the end. St. Christopher's is the most pro-UVa high school in the state, probably.

Of the oos schools, UT probably has as good a shot as anyone. He also likes OU, USCw, Clemson, UGA, UF, Bama, etc. He'll go deep into the process.

Garrett Taylor, 2015 CB from St. Christopher's who UT is also recruiting, is basically a lock to Stanford atp.

Why stay in state right now? Va Tech is down and UVA is...well...mediocre at best.

As I posted earlier in this thread, UVA will be the team to beat. St. Chris is UVAjr here in Virginia. Don't stop trying though!

I have a good feeling about this one. I think we got in early, VA schools are slumping, and our buzz is rising. 14 and 15 classes will be crucial.

Man DeBerry, Bates and Cherry would be nasty at linebacker. Plus through in JRM and Mouhon and Bynum that is a fast LB corps.

He said that CBJ is keeping in contact with him, and they are buiding a great relationship. He also talks to Jancek and Thigpen on a normal basis, and he specifically mentioned how Thigpen is also a VA native. He hasn't decided when he will be back to UT, but he said he definitely wants to come back.
