Seeing Neal these last two weeks has been fun. This is the guy we've been looking for the last two years. Ran hard and with heart...

On one of the fourth downs where he jumped to make it, I was thinking we were stuffed. That was awesome.

RN was running hard and getting north/south and getting all he could out of each attempt. Also, got to se his speed on the 4th down play.

Just a couple things:

1) Ron, would love to be able to sit down and have a beer or two with you. I'm on the same boat and am happy for our boys. I may not be smiling because I hurt for them, but I am as dang proud of them as anyone can be.

2) Geez, some of the fans on here. I understand that we lost. I get it, but this team needs our support and right now we need to look past our petty selfish feelings and give this team our full support. I gladly will eat my crow now for what I said about Worley. This game was all for them and not us fans. Not naming names. Carry on.

The rule about a fumble into the end zone being a touch back is just plain ignorant. Why in the hell should a fumble thru the endzone carry a more severe penalty than a fumble anywhere else on the field???


A fumble is a fumble is a freaking fumble and should carry the same penalty.


And yes I would say that regardless of which team was penalized.

Very happy to see several things:

1. 3rd down stops and 3rd down conversions. 2. Gutsy play calling 3. Effort effort effort. 4. Having a home field advantage. 5. Youth making a big impact.

Its been awhile that I've watched a game and had hope.

I'm very upset that we lost but really proud of our team. We played hard and should have won. We've got two weeks to get ready for USCe so hopefully we'll get more "tweeking" done on both the offense and defense. The crowd may have been louder at times than I remember it ever being. I'm betting the team will gain a lot of confidence after this game that will help carry them through the rest of the season.

Here's my prediction for rest of season:

We win out with the exception of Bama (not ready to say we beat them just yet)

It goes one of two ways. 1. We left it all on the field tonight and the blow of being so close will hamper us from here on out (same story different year where we just can't seem to catch a break)

2. We don't have the emotional drain due to the off week and we use this as our launching pad to make a run.

I believe the latter. Something clicked tonight for this team. The lightbulb has been turned on. Look out....something special is brewing in Knoxville.

1. Thanks Nick for the link. Got to see majority of the game on my iPad while driving back from Colorado...got home just in time for most of the 4th quarter.
2. All I kept thinking was how this compares to the '10 LSU game...except this time we had the perfect call, just poor execution. Gut wrenching.
3. How we go on from here will define Butch Jones' tenure at UT...do we rally and use this as the moment when things turned or is this yet another dark day on The Hill...??? I tend to think the former...but I'm really tired of just hoping.



Peyton said something a while back that resonates after a day like today; he asked whomever was interviewing him (paraphrasing) "would you rather go 0-8 your first 8 games but finish 8-8, knowing you fought back and finished respectably, or go undefeated but lose the Super Bowl on the last play & get your heart ripped out?"

The guy said he'd rather go 8-8, finish respectably....not Peyton F'ING Manning

He went on to say he'd rather have his heart ripped out because he would know that he made it as far as you could go but failed at the very end, only motivating him to improve and fight harder next year.

Granted, we're far from the pinnacle of college football but damn...this team fought as hard as any team I've seen in a long time...give 'em their due fellas, they derserve our support.

I hate losing but I'll take a loss where our guys gave 110% and left it all on the field.

Glad we kept the normal helmets. It looked awesome with the grey jerseys.

Also liked the orange and grey shakers in the student and recruit sections. Was a nice touch. Butch Is a detail machine

Wanted different helmets. Probably would have won us the game.

On a serious note, I wish we had different helmets. Tradition needs to be usurped at times.
