I'm glad Foster waited till the 4 year statute of limitations was up. I dont think the ncaa can do anything past 4 years.

Circulation injuries are very hard to pinpoint the cause of the problem at times. It's also not anything to mess around with. I'd say he will be out at least 3 more weeks. Jmo

It is a potentially career threatening condition too...they'll take their time, I'm sure.

Jayson Swain ‏@JaysonSwain 3h

Foster and his legal team were full aware of the statue of limitations before the interview took place where he admitted taking money

I am glad to read this. Johnny Football/Cam Newton slide but it would be VOLS luck to get the death penalty over a thousand dollars and some tacos.

Capital One Mascot Challenge 2013

alright guys, we are losing.... unlimited votes. download an autoclicker. if you dont wanna d/l an autoclicker, tab to the vote button and find something to hold down the enter button

Lol that's funny. You're hardcore, POA. Constantly reminding us if we're winning or losing a mascot challenge and going into detail about what we need to do to rack up the votes. You want UT to win at everything. Doesn't matter what it is. You're definitely a VFL in my book lol.

How does anyone have any insight on Riley Ferguson's mentality over any of the other QBs? Serious question

I'm just hoping we put in a QB who can open up and run the offense. Would be great to have Marlin Lane put his foot in the ground make one cut and go. If there ever was a need for a Travis Stephens like performance, it's this week

His right arm tat says "Gets It"

Left arm tat says "Wants It"

Back tat say "True Leader" "Has Wheels"
"Onfield Coach"

:)

No offense intended to my tatted Orange Brothers :hi:

And especially no offense intended to Riley

Lets make our QB predictions and score.

JW starts plays first 2 series with NP playing on 3rd and 4 or less.

NP gets 3rd series and never looks back!!!

Vols 17
Gays 14

I've said it before and I'll say it again... No fan base can touch UT when it comes to hating their own.

You are going to see more and more of these stories. I think players are sick of the system (especially the hypocrisy of the NCAA) and telling these stories serve to weaken it.

And to add to the meal plan discussion, a point Swain made this afternoon- if an off campus student, meal plan only covers 1 meal (lunch), other wise its on you.

JW starts and plays the first three series. Peterman relieves him and JW never sees the field again at UT until senior day next year. We lose bad.

Gays 38
Vols 10

Paying players would cut the number of competitive teams in half. You can debate whether that's an acceptable consequence, but that's what would happen.

Well then if you don't have the money to live off campus then live on campus where you have everything covered. No matter your age we all have to live within our needs, and I have no sympathy for somebody that choses to not do so and then complains when they fall on hard times because of it.

What do you mean by competitive? Serious question given typical scheduling of mostly cupcakes for OOC matchups.

I think the big 5 conferences should split from the NCAA, make their own rules, and only play among themselves. How's that?

it feels like a lot of you are making predictions of us getting blown out, like yall are competing to be right on how bad we suck. yall act like upsets never happen in college football.

someone could put out a prediction of UF27-UT13 and some of you would argue that we are worse than that. "no way we hold them under 30", "no way we have 100 yards rushing".

QFT.

I keep thinking "Gahd-dang guys, this is supposed to be fun."

I didn't hear his show but this is far from the truth. Scholarship players get the highest meal plans. It doesn't matter where they live.

I always thought football players could eat anything they wanted, whenever they wanted, at the training complex, as long as it fit in their diet regimen.

I don't argue that. But I don't think the issue is totally black/white. Something has to change.

You have a governing body willing to regulate bagel spreads for players...while they rake in billions off those same players.

I don't know what the answer is. But I don't think the NCAA's method of applying a 1960s rulebook to a 2010s world is the way to go. The game hasn't changed...but the problem is the NCAA acts like the money hasn't either.

My comment about hating their own wasn't necessarily attached to the NCAA stuff...more the hate some Vol fans want to spew any chance they get.

A lot of teams would cut football and many other sports entirely. Maybe half of the 125 teams could afford to pay players what people are suggesting. Obviously you'd have to have equal pay regardless of where you went to school, so the smaller schools that don't have huge money couldn't foot the bill. The BCS conferences would probably be the only teams left in FBS, and not even all those teams could afford it.

Basically what you said, the big conferences split away. No decent player would go to a non paying school, so those wouldn't have a chance at being competitive. I'm not saying that's necessarily a horrible thing, just something to consider. Some people wouldn't have the stomach to effectively ax dozens of programs.

I'm 0-16 on picking us to pull the upset. Realizing that I've decided that going forward I will use my market timing strategies to more accurately predict the upset. With the market at the top all bears become bulls and at the bottom all bulls become bears. It's called capitulation. We are not going to get an upset until every last one of us capitulates. Just going off what he said. Made that point several times. Had numbers for scholly checks too.

I'd suggest pulling up the podcast (today's 2nd hour I believe). He had an interesting take on it (and wasn't defending Foster either or suggesting paying athletes). Also shared interesting stuff about how you are handled if you come from money or come from the projects (and his personal story).

Very interesting hour.

Correct. Foster was fudging the truth a little. His point is still valid, but scholarship athletes have unlimited access to food. Gibbs is closed some days, but they can still eat at other dining places with the laypeople.
