And here I always thought those corners were reserved for murderers, rapists and such. Now I know talking bad about an athlete gets one too. Huh, learn something new every day I guess.

Tony had the strongest arm I ever saw in orange, not the strongest brain, and could could scramble.... to me the thing that made Tony special way the way he could throw on the run off the wrong foot and still hit a gnat in the arse

I have always believe that he would have won it all had he stayed healthy

I dunno, AJ Suggs could really sling it.....:)

Just bought UT UGA tickets for my 12 yr olds birthday. 1st game EVER at Neyland. Me and him. Been life long VOL fan, but due to dad's military service and then mine, only been able to enjoy via TV (or often recently via Internet). Just moved to Huntsville, AL and figured time to get up there. Extremely excited. Obtw it's a surprise for him.

I read where Butch Jones will be joining the 3HL, on Nashville 104.5 The Zone, every Thursday evening at 5:45 this fall.

That is a very good move for Butch to be heard over the air waves in the middle Tennessee market by fans and prospects alike during drive time and on their way home from football practice.

The talent in middle Tennessee is growing leaps and bounds. Good for Butch to make sure he has a dominant presence on Nashville radio.

Fwiw, DD was also on there weekly last year. It’s the flagship station for UT in middle TN so I'd guess it's a requirement for the UT coach.

It was kinda funny last year whenever I happened to catch Doofus on there bc it seemed like Clay Travis would often ask him questions that he usually didn't want to answer. If you are familiar with Clay I'm sure you know what I mean. He'll ask the questions that a lot of other media people won't. It had to be really tough for DD to call in towards the end of the season when it was pretty clear he wouldn't be back knowing he had to deal with CT for 15 minutes lol.

I expect a lot more positive conversations this year with CBJ every week. I wish Butch would just rip Franklin and constantly remind vu this is our damn state and that'll never change as long as he's at UT.

Nicely done! He'll have a blast. I believe I went to a UT game with my mom when I was 12 and had a blast. The UGA game will be a good one. Butch talked that game up to a lot of recruits this summer so we'll see what happens

You better be at C'Ville/Cass game. Give us a report in the player threads, please.

I couldn't make it
Lol nah I'm not. Moore already committed to K-State and Brooks likely won't be get any major offers IMO. He's committed to a small school (Charlotte?). Cass has nobody I know of. We haven't played played Cass in 3 years (iirc)

Awesome. I remember my first game as a child. Will never forget it.

Any of you guys old enough to remember...You ever wonder how good Tony Robinson could have been with this read option style offense? Boy would have been a Heisman candidate IMO.

I remember Robinson well and he was very good and may have done very well in the read option. He didnt get much support in the Heisman vote. My favorite would have been Condredge Holloway for running that type offense. Condredge was an incredible athlete. Both Robinson and Holloway were both quick and fast.

Haven't had much time to check any of the recruit's threads. Was there supposed to be a commit or something today? I saw the tweet from coach Z this am saying great day to be a Vol, brick by brick. Was something supposed to have happened by now or was he just saying that just to say it? Either would be cool with me.

Where in Huntsville?

"I look for Butch Jones' determination, mental ploys and fastidious attention to detail to be why the Vols set an early tone and make sure Neyland Stadium rocks from opening kickoff to last whistle. Tennessee dictates tempo, but more importantly, physicality."

VOLS 37, WKU 20

-John Brice

"The Vol offensive front is the bell cow of this team and Western Kentucky is replacing their defensive front from a year ago. Last week that defensive front and the Hilltoppers surrendered over 200 on the ground to Kentucky."

Tennessee 34 Western Kentucky 24

-Hubbs

"If Tennessee doesn't turn the ball over and plays sound like they did a week ago they win this game. I know WKU is the popular pick, but they only win if Tennessee helps them a good deal by turning it over numerous times and having several penalties. I don't see it happening."

Prediction: Tennessee 34 Western Kentucky 20

catbone

thought you would enjoy this

met a GT legend tonight at a HS game..........leon Hardeman.......played for Coach Dodd in 50's and was an all American sugar bowl MVP

neat thing is I knew of a guy who was there who was a teammate of his and they had not seen each other in years and got to meet with each other and reunite after what had been many years

this was all at a HS game in TN

cool moment to see and talk to them about what it was like in that era

with our GT GA joking thought it was a neat story to share seeing you were online
