Talked to him at church tonight. Very nice person. Took the attention in a very mature way. Got a call from Ohio State at church. Urb too late.

I honestly think FSU is the biggest threat. JMO

I don't and it's because of distance. When FSU was trending with him, the common theme in his comments kept mentioning distance as a factor which is why ucla won't really get a serious look.

This thread has more turns than the tn river. Btw, Richt will not get fired at UGA. If they weren't going to fire him after his one bad season, they won't after another 10 win season this year. He is adored as the golden boy and what is 'right' with college sports with the boosters and admin at UGA.

On Malone's top 2:

"I think it's Georgia and Tennessee, and FSU very close if not right there with those two. Clemson is making some waves as well."

-Fortenberry

Jalen Ramsey signed with FSU, correct? Do Ramsey and Malone know each other? Friends? If so, that would def be a huge factor for FSU in his recruitment

I have no idea if Ramsey knows Malone but it was sickening to see him get that key interception for FSU vs. Pitt. We could really use a DB like him right now.

He would be starting for us right now in all likelihood. He's a reserve there. :banghead2:

The starter was hurt, he is their next man up.

This fact still remains: Ramsey would be starting from day 1 had Dooley been a respectable recruiter. Stools gave no effort to the Brentwood Academy pipeline that has been fueling the SEC for over 3 decades.

Actually whoever would have been recruiting him for UT would have failed. Ramsey is one of those guys who made it clear by the end of his Junior year that he had no intention of staying instate. Seems there are a bunch of them at BA.

Of course he did. Stools never actively recruited him. I would also leave the Volunteer State knowing that an inept football coach was still on the hill. He sure as hell wasn't going to Vanderbilt or Memphis. An athlete of his caliber would have been foolish to consider Tennessee given our shortcomings at the time.

You're right. He just visited double digit times his senior year because he had no intention of staying in state. Dooley dropped the ball on this one being a lazy recruiter. Its actually been said that UT led for Ramsey when Peter Sirmon and Wilcox was still here.

There is wisdom to the adage there is no use crying over spilled milk, but Dooley did incalculable damage to UT football. If Butch had been here last year, it is likely that Ramsey and Bell would both be Vols. It is possible that Lawson would be a Vol since we were just too far behind to make it all up after he committed to Auburn. That's two to three 5* players that could have very well been Vols. That's not even mentioning the mass number of other recruits who said they loved UT but UT's former staff never recruited them.

Malone may or may not have been interested if Dooley was still here but my hunch is that Butch and Co. have exponentially increased our chances of landing Malone. The Malone-North-Lauderdale trio in 2015, maybe even 2014, would be dominant.

Yes with Butch I think we would have gotten those guys. I also think we would have bagged Frank Herron if Butch was here. IIRC wasn't he 5* as well?

I think a Malone, Lauderdale, North combo may be better or equal to the three headed monster (that could have been) of Da'rick, Corderell, and Justin.
