Tennessee vs Arkansas State - Game Thread.

BTW, buried in all of this is the fact that if Erik passes for his average all season and we make it to a bowl game...he has a chance at the season passing yardage record...I know it's early, but I thought I would point it out.
He deserves a shot. Been playing with a hurt finger and all...

And I heard that he is #20 on the SEC all time passing TD list.

People are going to have a very hard time criticizing his passing this game. I do think, however, that the taped fingers are affecting his deep ball, but he threw very very well.

People will see what they want to see...I didn't get to watch the game so I didn't see the throws but he has made some excellent decisions this year. This year behind the no huddle is going to raise is draft stock dramatically.

This was a great game to win and give us a week off.
It will give Ainge a chance to get that tape off and the defense to get some tiem off and maybe start to showup.:crossfingers:
Then we take it to the Bulldogs.

Its mostly Ainge. He has taken some hits after getting the ball out.
And he does this while keeping a high completion percentage so it's not like he's throwing it away all the time. A lot of credit needs to go to his check down receivers/backs for being available.

I saw the game... and he looked good. He threw an out pass for Stocker (I think it was) and you could tell it didn't come out right because of the fingers. That was his only bad pass pretty much all night. Rogers' drops were passes he got 2 hands on. No excuses. Ainge did look very good. Good vision, finding the open receiver effectively, making good passes.

He didn't check the ball down much at all.

I wasn't referring to today, but it's good that he didn't have to do that much today. Thanks for the great explanation in the above post about Ainge passing and Rogers drops.

And the bad thing about Rogers is this: he's getting open. He's just not catching the ball. I'm still pulling for him, but I think we'll see him take a diminishing role. I wouldn't be surprised to see Briscoe (sadly) above him on the roster. Denarius (sp?) Moore looked pretty decent too, but we didn't play the 4 WR package much.

And the pass to Stocker was explaining the INT he threw. It was an odd looking pass, and it was short to Stocker.

It does suck that Rogers is able to get open but not finish the deal, sounds like he's going to drop on the dc.
