I make a bit too much cash to stay in a trailer park. My financial advisor actually told me to go build a new house or something to get a tax break. But keep trying. Didn't know I had requirements though outside of me wanting to see certain players. Wow...........
@UTCoachJones: #VolNation we need your help, College Colors Day ends Aug 30th & go to http://t.co/j1q2aXLvPK & vote for the Vols!!! #VOLUNTEERSTATE #VFL
@jcshurburtt: Davonte Lambert, Joe Henderson and possibly Dewayne Hendrix- big time DE group for the #Vols
@jcshurburtt: Forgot to mention Derek Barnett and Charles Mosely when talking potential #Vols DL gets last night. One of the best DL classes in 14?
But I thought DL recruiting was going terribly, Stripling couldn't relate to DL recruits and we needed to be really concerned?![]()
I know this may seem like a stupid question, but I want to see what you guys think.
In HS, Worley was named the National Gatorade Player of the Year. And he may have won a state title... Not sure though.
Riley Ferguson lost like 2 games in 4 years of HS ball. Kid is a winner and a competitor. He's mobile and picks up things quick.
Josh Dobbs led the Alpharetta HS to a couple successful seasons. He performed very well in the Elite 11. He's smart and mobile as well.
Here's my question. Coming straight out of HS, who was the more polished QB of those 3 and why? My vote goes to Riley.
LebanonVolunteer, are you feeling any better about our DL recruiting after reading this?
He didn't make it because he hurt his hand during the competition. He was one of the first few out though and on the last competition I thought he played his way in. It was a 2 min (or 1 min) drill and Riley threw a TD on the first play with a hurt hand. He barely missed the E11 and I think if he was fully healthy he would have made it. Just making it as far as he did was good though. Of the 20 something competing for the 11 spots he was one of the last four in and ESPN even made a video saying "surprise final 4" referring to Riley.I thought furgie was in elite 11?
Getting Lambert helped alot. I will feel better when the other 3 have committed to Tennessee.![]()
Barnett is still considering candy, Mosley is still looking at bama, and Hendrix has started to look at several other schools. Long way to go till the LOI's are signed. We apparently led for Williams, Humphreys, Ford, and many others that are now committed elsewhere. An article/"insider" saying we lead means very little as of now.

Another way to look at it is that we lead for Barnett, Mosley and Hendrix, all will eventually be Vols. Mosley and Barnett likely announce very soon, Mosley in 4 days on his birthday.
The staff passed on Williams, Humphreys and Ford because Lambert, Mosley and Barnett are going to be Vols.

Apparently the guys you mentioned though were all told to look around or gently given a hint to
This is what happens when you ask these guys how they track their internal competitions.
Stone: We got a chart up in our room.
James: I'm leading in every category.
Stone: We compete in pass rush, we compete in knockdowns.
James: I'm really winning. Honestly. I am.
Stone: You're leading in knockdowns.
James: I'm leading in knockdowns, and I'm undefeated in pass rush.
Stone, Fulton, in unison: We're all undefeated in pass rush.
James: I'm 13-0! Y'all are 12-0! [And this is about where the room devolves into a spirited debate over whether 13-0 should really count as a lead over 12-0.]
Big softies. Jones pumps a rotating series of noises into Tennessee football practices, but it's not the canned crowd noise you might expect: rattling trains, breaking sheets of glass, and recorded car alarms echo around the practice field at nausea-inducing volumes. Then there's a file of a wailing infant that seems to stretch on past the point of humane motivational tactics. James, Stone, and Fulton trip over each other to declare it the worst offender. Richardson: "I'm like, Coach, it sounds like somebody's hurting these kids. It ain't right."
Please restrict yourself to five plates of lo mein, gentlemen. "We got a new offense," says James, "so we gotta be a lot faster. I think collectively, as an O-line, we've lost like 200 pounds." Stone: "Basically, everybody had to drop some weight. We had to make some hard, tough decisions in the kitchen." James: "I don't eat past six o'clock. Or when I do, it's a salad." What kind of salad satisfies an offensive lineman? "Those big Zaxby's salads!"
