A few months ago, I said I didn't want him and didn't think he would come here. I'm still not sold he will be the star everyone thinks, but if Butch and staff want him, then you won't hear a complaint out of me if he decides to be a Vol.

I actually think due to recent things he is a Vol.

Wouldn't Hurd, Bates, TK, Helm, Garrett, Adoree, and Malone be amazing? I know it's a pipe dream, but it could happen.

Callahan just said on Hooker's show that Josh will OV at UT, that we are A leader/in the mix. If he had to guess right now would "pick Georgia as a very, very slight leader". Other team to watch would be Clemson... will take OV there, have been "on him since the beginning". Wants to see how he fits in UTs offense. Nothing really new

Teams are UT, Georgia, Florida State and Clemson. Pansybilt has slipped but not totally out of it

Knows, based on what he's been told, that he would play at UT on day one.

He is coming around to what Brent and Paul have been saying consistently for months. The only difference is that I think Tennessee is the team with the slight lead. When we pick up his friend Barnett, that will help even more. Not to mention Sumner County, despite all of its faults, is as "All-Vol" as anywhere west of the Cumberland Plateau.

I agree 100%. And wasn't there talk on VQ of Malone being all Vol last year before Dooley was fired? If he was coming to UT with Dooley as HC surely Butch can seal the deal.

Agree. it was kinda weird cause they teased that they had breaking news about Malone from Callahan but I've heard pretty much everything he said....Hubbs/PFort effect. I think we're in good shape here based on what they said and, as you say Madkins, his "environment".

Odd. I live in Sumner County. What faults would you be referring to? Serious question. I've got no clue what you are talking about. IMO, one of the finest mid-state counties there is.

To keep things on track though. I believe in the end JM will be Awl Vawl.

Agreed Baldy... Sumner Co is very nice... great schools, scenic, low crime. Almost moved there 13 yrs ago. Anywho, gonna be cool to get arguably the 2 best players in the state outta there when Josh commits.

Yep. I grew up in Davidson County. When I got out of the Marine Corps and moved back home, I knew there was no way in hell I was moving back to Davidson county. I love Nashville, but DC sucks big green ones.

Yeah it does. Settled on Williamson Co myself after escaping Memphis when my oldest, who started classes today at UT as a freshman, was starting kindergarten.

All of the surrounding counties have surpassed Davidson County in the last several years. I can remember when Cheatham and Robinson Counties were considered backwoods.......not anymore. Seriously considered moving to Cheatham County a couple of years ago.

I live in Sumner County too.

It has a dysfunctional school system, bad local governments, and outside of Hendersonville all of the cities are garbage dumps.

They do need changes to the school board. I live in Hendersonville but I like Gallatin too

Hendersonville East of Drakes Creek to St Blaise in Gallatin is very nice. All government sucks btw.

Some crystal ball changes today. Barf simmons changed to uga, 247 CEO to uga, then ol Hooker follows it up with a UT prediction.

Seriously ... Has there been an accurate Crystal Ball prediction for a recruit that was on the fence?

Evan Berry or Todd Kelly to UT doesn't count. If it's a forgone conclusion, my dog can make an accurate pick.

Barton Simmons' explanation on why he changed his prediction.

"I picked Malone to Georgia all the way back in May but I recently changed that prediction to Florida State. My reason for that was I started to question how much room Georgia had for him and how hard they would be recruiting him consequently.

I also felt that based on who i had talked to and talking to Josh that the visit to Florida State went well, and I had received some indicators that FSU was trending. Well I'm back on the UGA train. I'm now hearing that while FSU is likely to get an official, they aren't likely to be his final destination. And it also sounds like Georgia will have room for him.

I continue to think it's a two-team race as things stand right now. I think Georgia is one of the teams and I had thought FSU was the other but that's no longer my impression. I don't know who the other main contender is. SImply by process of elimination, I think Vandy could be the other team but I haven't gotten any confirmation from anywhere to give me much confidence in that.

Tennessee has definitely made a push of late and could be a team to watch but I still have my doubts that the Vols have gone from out of consideration to top 2."

He hasn't a clue.
