When I was living in Woodmeade my last year in college, my dad came to visit and stayed at the apartment with me and my roommates. We had a fire that was on it's last legs. Dad was asleep in my room. I was sitting on the couch with my other roommate playing SEGA. Other roommate walks in hammered. Sees a light blue members only jacket on the chair. Says, "wtf!", and throws it towards the fire, where it went up in flames and vanished faster than anything in the history of the world

FTR, I don't mind the new uni. It is CERTAINLY better than having some dumbass all black uni like most people in the FF want.

I just don't want us to have to resort to things that seem "gimmicky" for recruiting purposes. Look at Oregon. They have changed their uniforms about 15,000 times over the years. Now you look at someone like 'Bama. Last time they had a major change in their uniforms was 1985 when they went to crimson helmets. Their recruiting has not suffered.

Bottom line, uniform changes are no substitution for winning on the field. Winning brings recruits. Period.

I liked the black.

We are not winning like Alabama is right now. Pull all the stops to get there.

CBJ made it clear that there will not be a bunch of uniform changes and went onto the tradition aspect. He mentioned the grey jerseys from the 1914 undefeated team. I was a little worried about a trend of gimmicky unis setting in at UT but I believe that the smokey gray is the only major change and it is just ban alternate....a bad azz alternate too.

I enjoyed the black for that one special occasion. It was a total surprise when they came out. Was awesome. That being said, do not want all the time.

BTW, these new uniforms were the last straw for a lot of people I know. They are officially done with the university.

I just don't get that mentality. The smokey gray is a one time a year alternate and the others are not very different. The colors are the same They are just modernized. I keep seeing the 'bama don't change their uniforms' comments. Fawk bama and everything about them.

Edit: my phone likes to toe Obama instead of bama

Probably should change the state Tennessee flag to gray and black and whatever other color new citizens want. I'm for red and green if I get to vote on it.

As long as we win, you shouldn't care if we wear an alternate.

If the players are happy, you should be happy, because happy players are productive players.

This!!! I wish everything had stayed the same since 1940! 99.99% of the changes since then have been terrible and ruined this country.

Another tradition we should change is to start charging $250 to get into the game and maybe $100 to park within 3 miles of the stadium. That would help the program, too.

Everybody keeps saying the new "cool" unis wil make recruits want to come to Tennessee. If the guy is simple minded enough to make his decision regarding what school to go to based on uniform colors is he mentally astute enough to help us out on the field?
