VQ has hinted that Ferguson and Dobbs have been pushing Peterman throughout fall camp. Today's news just makes it look more like Ferguson/Dobbs may end up winning that 2nd string spot. And right now Ferguson seems to have the edge.

I agree with Bruin about one thing for sure...If our upper class qb's can't nail down the spot then "Houston we have a problem"

Orta is currently playing at the nickel position right now. Rucker over on 247 thinks he should be tried at CB. He's not high on the depth chart right now at nickel or safety.

Can't blame him. Outside of Randolph, Moore, and McNeil you have Orta, a walk-on (Arnold), and 2 FR that have never played (Johnson and Thomas) at S. Then 2 walk-ons in Toney and Swafford at NB. We are really in a bad spot if One of our top 3 safeties go down.

Guess there are some legs to the Peterman sliding thought process. Still tough to say because no one here has seen butch do a camp...who really knows what he is I gonna do

Who knows? Not all frosh QBs are bad, but what are realistic expectations anyways? I think we can win 5-7 games with Ferg at the helm.

5 I agree but that isn't good enought IMO. Need to win at least 1 more and a true frosh QB will have trouble doing that

True...but guess I was counting Peterman seeing he has been here a year .... sorry if I was politically incorrect ...

It still doesn't change the issue
I get what you're saying, but I still wouldn't count Peterman as upper class. He spent last year as a redshirt learning a system we no longer use. IMO Peterman, Dobbs and Ferguson were all on a level playing field.

Wait where lol?

Okay maybe not a bomb. But I know you are a big Ferguson fan. Even if he's not taken the starting job as you hope, his progress is promising....or atleast I saw it that way. This is a big step for freshman. The fact that they are in the mix says a lot about them. Jmo

Agree. If he is still getting those reps in a week that will be even more telling

Fergy is the QB of the future IMO, and I don't see the downside of starting him week 1. If there was a legitimate argument, I could see it otherwise. The one decent argument is a frosh won't be ready for Oregon, so we need Worley to start until then
