Woodberry's notes from morning practice.[/URL]

* Afterwards linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen, said he thought Maggitt was only a few days away from returning to the main practice group.

Enormous. No homo, twss

fixed. By the way, I agree.

On JRM to LB...

"After spending the first week of camp working at strong safety, it simply made sense to move the talented newcomer on over so he can start learning the ropes at his future home.

The fit looks even better considering that Thigpen and this staff seem to have a 'thing' for converting safeties to linebakers, as with Sapp and Brewer.

"Jalen has a similar skill set and he'll learn as we go along, learn the calls and pick up what's going on," Thigpen said of the move.

"He's never been shy about sticking his head in there. We see that in practice now. He's not shy about contact by any stretch of the imagination. He gets after it and he's a really smart and cerebral kid. That's one of our motto's, 'good linebackers are smart and tough,' and Jalen possesses those qualities."

Under the new SEC bowl system, the Capital One Bowl in Orlando (vs. Big Ten/ACC), a long-time SEC bowl, will have the first selection of available SEC teams after any conference schools have qualified for the College Football Playoff, the Allstate Sugar Bowl or the Discover Orange Bowl.

Following the Capital One Bowl, there will be a pool of six bowls comprised of renewals with the Outback Bowl in Tampa (vs. Big Ten), Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville (vs. ACC/Big Ten), TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl in Jacksonville (vs. ACC/Big Ten) and AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis (vs. Big 12), as well as new agreements with the Texas Bowl in Houston (vs. Big 12) and Belk Bowl in Charlotte (vs. ACC).

The SEC has also renewed its relationship with both the Birmingham Bowl (vs. TBA) and the Advocare V100 Bowl in Shreveport (vs. ACC). The Birmingham Bowl will have the first selection of available teams following the pool of six bowls. The Advocare V100 Bowl will have the next selection of available teams following the Birmingham Bowl.

SIAP but have the grades come out from the final summer session. I know it only ended Friday but I didn't know how quickly that info got disseminated. Thanks.

Very interesting text that shocked me this morning. It is from someone that is at every practice and no I won't tell exactly from who but thought it would ring up a good discussion

"Going on record now. Nathan Peterman should be getting all the first team reps NOW. Every practice this happens, they are slowing down the offense."

based on what? What has he done to prove he deserves it? Not questioning the text, and I have not been at the practice, but haven't heard he was that good... rather thought i heard he would prob be 4 QB ?????

Interesting...what does this sentence mean?:

"Every practice this happens, they are slowing the offense down"

I'm trying to figure out where the "Peterman is sliding down the depth chart" thought process is coming from. I have seen a couple of posters here say that but no real indication of it from the coaches???

I don't understand that quote, does it mean that Peterman is our best qb, or does it mean he's slow?
