Do you think Brown will be a factor? I don't think he'll be ready, IMO.

No he won't.

You've got it pretty much right on the money.

RT - Kyler Kerbyson / Alan Posey / Orlando Brown
RG - Marcus Jackson / Brett Kendrick / Ray Raulerson
C - Mack Crowder / Coleman Thomas
LG - Dylan Weisman/ Brett Kendrick / Ray Raulerson
LT - Austin Sanders / Marquis Pair / Orlando Brown

The interior will be a bunch of maulers. We should be good at run blocking at least. We get the ball out quick in this offense though, so that helps pass blocking.

Nice to know that our OL is going to continue to be really good for another handful of years. Hopefully we take full advantage and win some meaningful games. Hurd and Paulk have to be pretty excited about the OL of the future.

Ron Ive heard that the Stewart kid in the 15 class may be the most phsyical of all future O line.Read some where he is already benching over 400 lbs and has a nasty streak to go with his strength.

On Branisel.

"If there has been one consistent message from head coach Butch Jones it's been to the tight ends to be more physical. Branisel has shown pretty good athletic ability and has shown good hands in passing routes. But being more physical in the run game is where he has been challenged. That challenge is commonplace place to most high school tight ends making the transition to college. The other challenge is just in how much running the tight ends have to do on the practice field. After a couple of days early on where Branisel's head seemed to be spinning, he seems to be settling in well mentally with the offense."

Dylan Wiesman -- Offensive Line

"Butch Jones announced Wiesman's arrival after Saturday night's scrimmage. Before taking any questions, Jones bragged on the work Wiesman has put in through one week of camp, calling the 6-foot-3, 308-pound offensive linemen "the one individual I'm really, really excited about right now." That's high praise from the head coach, especially when you consider Wiesman wasn't listed on the initial two-deep depth chart the Vols released on July 30. "He's physical, he's very, very intelligent and he's playing himself, right now, into a rotation on our starting offensive line," Jones went on to say."

It definitely seems like he gets very positive praise whenever something is said about him. I have a feeling if he were at a bigger HS program he would be talked about a lot more. Glad he bleeds orange.

I actually prefer the the updates on current Vols to be in those player's threads. They are easy to miss on this page.

Is it just me, or does Neal look faster on that long run?

Neal has always been super fast. I just think he's finally realizing he needs to give maximum effort at all times. Last year, he struck me as a guy who was content with 3-6 yards on a carry, unless the end zone was 10 yards away. If this coaching staff can make him into an angry runner with a desire to make every run a home run, Neal could have a huge season IMO.

Very surprised by this but looks like Vincent Dallas is going to be one nice player lost in the coaching change shuffle. Very disappointed to hear the news with our needs at WR

Few morning notes

Jalen Reeves-Maybin has joined the Vols' linebackers corps and folks are really encouraged with this move.

Riyahd Jones is out with a knee injury and is feared lost for the season. That's why Butch Jones said Sunday night on the Nation that a true freshman would start at DB. Cam Sutton is positioned to be that guy. And to lend depth Vincent Dallas has moved back to defensive back.

Paul Harris and Michael Williams were in the black hole.

Lots of spec teams work

Some first-team reps for Riley Ferguson at QB, and Butch Jones really intense and challenging countless players as the morning session ran more than 90 minutes.

Quick hits and coverage all afternoon before tonight's practice.

Maybe it was the effort, but he did look slower last year IMO.

If he has safety speed, like I think he does...this is EXCELLENT news.

Speed + Defense are two words that have been oxymoron's with our D for longer than I wish to think about.

Reeves-Maybin does have safety speed. I think the '14 class at safety has made the decision to move Maybin to LB an easy one.
