Probably because Ainge has to touch the ball first in order to hand it to the running backs. That makes them suck.
Love to see obvious troll threads get this many responses.
Certainly was a contrubuting factor in the fumbled exchange this past Saturday.
If you have to depend on Foster to "make a play" ona routine hand off because your starting QB is injured, then that says a lot.
I realize you were being facetious, but even you have to come to terms with that truth.
Ainge is not a leader. He's not a QB that can win you a bowl game. He couldn't separate himself from Ole Miss' back up QB/receiver. He couldn't separate himself from a weak armed LSU outcast in Rick Clausen.
What more evidence do you need to figure out that he has been a contributing factor in our teams demise?
Leave it there. We'll use it for comedy in a couple of years.
And what has Crompton done?

He can go 0-2 or 1-4 just as good as ainge can when given a short leash and not put in situations where he can get into a rhythm. Clausen would have suffered the same fate as CJ Leak and Scheaffer had it not been for the fact that Ainge sucked so horribly (and was injured) that they couldn't pull him after one or two series. They were forced to make Rick Clausen play a few snaps, get in a rhythm, and he eventually made plays. More memorable plays than Ainge, at least...
Sucker...
ESPN - Tennessee 20, Memphis 16 - NCAA College Football Recap
ESPN - Vols survive late scare from UAB - NCAA College Football Recap
Add those 2 games to the ones that Ainge "started" but didn't actuallu win by his own merits/by himself and it drops to 15-10 (.600 winning percentage)...
Not exactly Tennessee football...
Has he been part of the problem? At times, sure. But he sure as hell hasn't had much of a team around him the whole time he's been here.
Erik Ainge is the straw that broke the camel's back. Fulmer and hin ineptness created the pre-existing conditions... Ainge was the last piece to create the perfect storm.
Did you know... Ainge had the highest completion percentage in school history last year? I am sure you did know that, but you intentionally left it out of your little list . He's not a bad QB. He's a little fragile, but he'll be fine. Throwing downfield would not have won the games against Cal or Florida. Our defense flat out lost those games. The inability to score TDs in the red zone (against a top 5 team) was bad, but not our biggest problem.
