"Following early periods of warm-ups and stretching, the Vols circled up for the traditional bull ring or 'Tennessee Drill.' With teammates encircling them, several Vols squared off one-on-one in the battles. It was mostly even between offensive and defensive players, though freshman cornerback Cam Sutton was mobbed by teammates after winning a battle.

Showcasing this coaching staff's attention to detail, secondary coach Willie Martinez then pulled Sutton aside and continued with instruction on the heels of Sutton's ring victory."

@Volquest_Paul: Cam Sutton has impressed @UTCoachJones and he will play at corner and possibly return. Butch said Ryan Jenkins could help as well.

And ...

If true, More than likely he will be asked to pay the money back like other kids who have done similar.

Aj green, troy smith, etc...

Maybe, I just find this a much more blatent situation, but knowing the NCAA they will wrap the investigation up about February, but Manziel is also money for the NCAA and I would imagine the sheer threat of his money and name joining the EA lawsuit might keep them at a limited suspension as crazy as that sounds.

Though if no one can corroborate the money, it will make it tough.

I remember there was big hype for CP last year and people were skeptical. And he delivered. Hopefully North does the same

Redshirt freshman tight end*Justin Meredith*worked out with a trainer on Robert White Indoor Field prior to practice getting underway. The former Under Armour All-American continues to struggle to get anywhere near 100-percent. Given how limited the former three-star has been since his senior year of high school, his future isn't looking spectacular.

All running backs coaches emphasize ball security but*Tennessee’s Robert Gillespie seems even more fumble-conscious than the norm. Sunday he was constantly reminding Vol backs to tuck the ball under their chin with the elbow tight beneath it. Several times he chastised a back who seemed to be following orders. Tennessee’s rushers may not have breakaway tendencies this fall but, apparently, they aren’t going to have give-away tendencies, either.

After missing most of April, May and June on a disciplinary suspension, junior tailback*Marlin Lane*is showing a little rust. He looked a little stiff in Sunday's early drill work, once prompting a comment from his position coach about his need for better flexibility.

Defensive backs coach Willie Martinez continues to ride freshman*Malik Foreman. As the coaches have said all camp, freshmen must contribute in the secondary. That includes Foreman and*Cameron Sutton. Martinez got onto Foreman for consistently being the last guy to run through grillwork.

Another newcomer,*Riyahd Jones, continues to have the inside track on starting at cornerback opposite*Justin Coleman. The rookies need to acclimate themselves to college ball quickly as playing DB in the Southeastern Conference is no simple task. Remember, not even*Eric Berry*started his first game for the Orange & White.

Coleman is a quiet leader over the cornerbacks and the New Brunswick, Ga., native is clearly the most gifted of the group presently. He must make strides and be the guy to keep opponents' top wideouts in check. He earned praise from Martinez today during a tackling drill.

A poster on VQ made the comparison and I like it.

You guys think North is comparable (build and skill) to Amari Cooper?
Not awful, but not great Amari is 6'1" or so right over 2 bills, but he is physical and what I would call a tactician WR (uses hands well, runs crisp routes). Both are quick though.

I would rather compare him to Mike Evans from TAMU. Both bigger, physical guys that are shifty and quick as well.
