'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

Jackson, who has the athleticism to play cornerback or wide receiver in college, recently took an unofficial visit to Tennessee and raved about the experience. The five-star was especially impressed with the attention he received in Knoxville and the Vols are definitely staying high on his list.

Jackson is expected to work out at Florida's Friday Night Lights camp and this could be another crucial visit. He's raved about the combo of football and track in Gainesville and if Tennessee rolled out the red carpet for Jackson then Will Muschamp's group will have a lot to live up to as well.

Jackson is not one of those guys who talks the talk about leaving California but will almost definitely end up in the Pac-12. He's originally from Belleville, Ill., so location isn't a major thing. Playing in the SEC would put him relatively close to home.

That's why his trip to Tennessee was big. That's why this weekend heading to Florida, and possibly Florida State, is also important. Illinois, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, UCLA and USC are also among his favorites.

Question for somebody that has an educated opinion. Hypothetically we get Adoree, and the twins, what does that do for our track team? Just trying to figure out if bringing the track team back along with football would be a nice recruiting tool.

It would be a tremendous tool. It's been said many times that when our track team was relevant...it made our football team a LOT better, because we were able to steal some of their raw athletes and put them into positions in space to utilize their speed (i.e. Willie Gault). Getting a relevant track program again would do wonders for both our athletic department as a whole and for the betterment of our football program.

I think that's two different questions. Like volnatic said, the track team is good for football.

I'm not sure the vice versa is true with regards to athletes. Some guys like Adoree or Jonathon Wade will be able to contribute to the track team but most really fast football players, like Evan Berry, still aren't track team fast.

The best time I've seen for CP would have been decent in the SEC but he would have been blown away at nationals if he even qualified.

The only 2 athletes I've seen in the speed events were Jeff Demps and Trindon Holliday, hunter was good in the high jump I believe, but not elite.

It's hard to be elite in more than 1 sport, Adoree is a long jumper, so, he would have to REALLY like us to pass up Florida's track program sadly. His goal is to make the Olympics, and they're the best in the Biz of getting their jumpers there. Didn't they take Gold and Bronze in the last Olympics or something

Wrong about Hunter not being elite. Hunter competed in the long jump and his jump before he injured his knee qualified him for Olympic trials. He probably would have made Olympic team if he practiced track more. What do you consider elite? He finished 8th in the NCAA indoor championships. Top 10 in nation...that's elite to me.

How about Sam Graddy 1984 NCAA 100 meter champ and Olympic Gold Medalist.
Sam Graddy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grady wasn't elite in football, he was fast and had terrible hands.

Hunter could have been better, but he knew his future was football. And that's what I mean, it's very hard to be a 1st or 2nd round draft pick in football, and a medal contender in track. Simply because of the dedication required to do both.

When Adoree was asked if he would rather make the NFL, or the Olympics, he said the Olympics. So, football will take a back door to track imo, and that doesn't bode well for us.
