If I'm Martin, I'm pushing for the guys like London, demery, Richmond, Mitchell and Lindsey right now.
You missed on Lyle which hurts, but the good news is its June. Go out and secure a commitment from London before he blows up. Try to get back in it with Richmond and see if he's ready to pull the trigger.
Losing Lyle hurts, but a class of:
Richmond, Cornish, London and Cofer is very good, and could be locked up by the end of July. That gives you times to continue to pursue looney, Lindsey, demery, hurt etc.
Jmo
I don't believe that's accurate.
They have been recruiting him for three years CCM hasn't been here that long. He wanted to play close to home Louisville is closer than Tennessee. Their program had to be a factor they have already committed a point guard and shooting guard as talented as he is so he is gonna have to share time. At Tennessee he was an instant starter 30 minute a game player.
Pretty sure I read Martin was recruiting him at mizz st while Lyle was a freshman before he blew up.
Then you wonder why CCM couldn't seal the deal why he would choose Louisville over us. There has to be a reason we can match anything Louisville has to offer as far as facilities. I certainly like CCM better than their coach guess some players don't share that view.

Really, you wonder why? I'm sure it had alot to do with the fact they just won the national championship while we were getting bounced in the first round of the NIT?
So you evidently expect us to always lose these players because a team won a National Championship. There should be a lot more consideration than that like playing time and the coach. If you believe that then forget Looney he will be going to Duke.

In the objective world, one guy has multiple NCAA championships, multiple players in the NBA, and is coaching less than two hours from Lyle's hometown. The other has multiple NIT appearances, no NBA players, and is nearly three times the distance.
Regardless of our hometown loyalties to Tennessee and CCM, the average person doesn't share those feelings. We can't really offer anything Louisville can't other than an underwheling lack of competition for PT. Players like Lyle aren't usually scared of competition anyway, and if they were, would you really want them?

So evidently according to this after the fact response by you we wasted a lot of time recruiting him. Looks like CCM wasted about four years. If we can't compete with the schools no matter their accomplishments then we want be moving to the next level.
