The wash or washer never smelled bad. The only issue I was having was the shocks were worn out and it was getting noisy. I decided to clean out the trap since I was in there anyway. The youth sock, beer cap and 2 pennies were trapping a bit of gunk though in the trap so when it came out it smelled like you fished up a handful of river muck.
