Not a cop involved, just an automatic camera picture apparently. My ops manager called me a couple weeks ago and asked me if I got a speeding ticket and I said hell no. He said a letter came to our office with a couple pictures of my truck on the highway saying I was speeding. I never got pulled over by a cop and didn't know about it til my boss called on the phone when he received the letter.

Due date is 6/24. What is interesting to me is the letter states it's a non moving infraction. They are saying I was exceeding the speed limit :blink:. Wait...what?
Also interesting there is an officers signature on the ticket and I never encountered any human police officer at the time of the "infraction". Is infraction a real word in this scenario?

I'll inquire as many around here have dealt with similar scenarios. The officer is more than likely the guy who reviewed the picture. What happens here is if you don't pay the fine then they turn the evidence over to the courts in this area. I haven't personally gotten one, so I'll look into it.

Cool. It says in the letter it's a civil matter and it won't go on my driving record. Really weird that it happened in west Tennessee but you pay the fine in Knoxville. I heard that in other states they had to drop the speeding cam tickets cause they were challenged in court and lost.

Cameras are coming down here for the same reason. Our tickets have to pay out to a company in ATL. A scheme is all it is. Hell I think 80-90% of the revenue was going to the camera company and not even the city. I'll see what I can dig up, but if it was me I would fight it all the way.

I agree, I think it's a buncha bullsheet. Just trying to gather all the info I can to be successful.
