Prime rib was good. A little overcooked. (,the way mamma wanted it...) it still had a good flavor. Coated it in a butter/seasoning mixture and ten kosher salt. Put it In the oven at 500deg at 5min/lb. Then turn off the oven without opening the door, and let it be for 2hrs. Pretty simple.

That looks great!

Thanks. It was pretty good. I was worried about the butter. It pretty much all melted off and allowed the outside to crisp a little. I would def fix it this way again. Public usually runs them on sale for about 5.99-6.99 a lb around holidays.

You have been taught well grasshopper. Next time stab some slits in the meat and insert whole garlic slivers.

Nice work! I've done a basic roast that way and it comes out good too. Get one of those earthenware pots with a lid and you can skip the salt too.

Is that the green pot and pans? I like my salt. Not sure I can go without it.
