since you really can't reply to my question since you made something up that wasn't said (regarding the officials) you decide to post a link to the crystal ball.. which says what? that he is considered a lean toward tennessee? who said he wasn't thought of being a lean (i even said that in my first post on josh), but i spoke to barton simmons regarding josh and he said josh is more open to other teams and barton is a national guy. Barton also changed his crystal ball from tennessee to georgia. so as i said he seems to be open and those officials will be very important.
Hey coach Mark Richt why you on volnation when your supposed to be recruiting?

I see Notre Dame as a much bigger threat than UGA here. I'm afraid mama will push for that Notre Dame education.

Someone on here said Malone doesn't like Hurd. Is your bias showing through here or is this an honest evaluation?

Pretty sure it was an honest evaluation. I didn't plan on mentioning anything based upon possible backlash but I've talked to several Station Camp players that say he isn't quite the player he is hyped up to be.

On VN, people have been saying we are losing ground with Malone. But many "experts" have made their predictions to the Vols within the last two weeks. So which is it?

And I think Richt has been there for over 1/3 of that time... I think he totally needs more time... ;)

I think we'd all be fine with that. It'll be interesting to see how they respond this season after getting so close to the NC game.

Fair question. Honestly, even though an athlete may have conduct or attitude issues, it still doesn't change the athletic ability of a football player. So, an honest opinion of his football ability is that I have never been impressed with his on-field production. He takes plays off, gives up on plays, and will dive on the ground rather than fight for yards. Very timid and has no fight at all. It may seen odd as he performs stellar at combines. And who knows, maybe he'll have a phenomenal year this coming fall. I am only going by what I've seen in the past.

As for any other issue that I didn't feel like was necessary to discuss initially is his attitude. Hurd and the rest of the recruits have tried on several occasions to reach out to him, get acquainted, spend time with him, etc. and from what I've been told, he's been less than receptive (distant, cocky, etc).

The 2014 commits do not like his attitude at all. This is not just Hurd; this is all of the guys. They're all very close, very personable and have gelled well together. So, from what I've heard from the kids and from what I've seen for myself, I can say that I don't feel that it would be any great loss to the potential success of UT football if we do not get him.

If true I'd expect butch to back off. It's something you never hear about. Attitude issues. I mean no coach is going to come out and say that so we'd never know. I'd imagine butch would listen to other recruits take on a particular prospect. Hell I'd send seniors out with them for a night on the town on their visits, expecting a full report the next morning on what kind of guy he is. The character guys will remain here. The immature ones won't. See kiffin class

Welp, that's a bummer. But if he's not going to gel with the rest of the class and thinks he's too good for them, oh well.

Vol74, what is the opinion of Booth from Hurd and the other recruits in the class?

Interesting...wonder if the coaches feel Malone is worth the potential attitude and team chemistry issues...

I really don't know anything about Booth. I know that he has had conversations with the guys on twittter and "seems" eager and receptive, but that's all I know.

As far as the Malone situation, I have heard several things from several different kids (not just UT commits), but his distance could always just be because he's just shy. It's hard to tell as I don't know him. It's very well-known that he lives a somewhat sheltered life as he isn't allowed to be a part of any social media. So, possibily he's just misunderstood.
Of course, you'd probably get a different answer if you asked the commits.

Funny though, I had never heard that he didn't like Jalen, so I asked him why. He said he didn't know it either. Lol.

Someone mentioned Marlon Brown earlier...you never know with any kid I suppose. I remember our fan base being quite angry at the Brown kid and booing him pretty hard when he came back here...now he's what an undrafted free agent that just signed with the Ravens? 74 makes some good points...the kid may be all that or he could be a bust...if there are attitude and behavior things it might be a red flag.

Interesting stuff. Recruiting isn't always black and white like many of us wish it were.

Any good nuggets of info for us regarding recruits? Any big commitments coming soon? :)

Do you think it could be his parents? It has been documented that his parents have a pretty tight grasp on his recruitment. Based on a few articles I have read, it just seems like they are in the driver's seat, not Josh.

I think it's pretty obvious that zerodark has another screen name. Looks like all of his recent posts have 1 like.
