I'm not going to be pulling anything my F150 can't handle. I'll also consider an Expedition. #Ford

I'd like a diesel, but as hman pointed out they're gas hogs...and good God diesel is expensive. I do not want one with a V10 tho.

Excursions only come in v-10 or diesel iirc I researched them heavily but my 2500 suburban was better in every way but especially price than what the fords had. If you are set on a Ford you need to go expedition. At 6kish look for a 02-04 will depend wildly on how set you are on all the bling features like leather and moonroof.

They offered a gas V8 in the Excursion.

I want to move people, unlike the last one, this is not a "maybe I'll replace my truck" vehicle. This is a "you know what would be nice? something to move people" vehicle.

They only made the excursion like 5 years or so go expedition it will be plenty big enough for hauling people. The excursion is more for people needing the weight ratings than it is about seating any more.

This is why I guess I didn't know they had v8 excursions. I never saw one for sale in my area either, not shocked because that's paltry for a 8600 gvwr vehicle

5.4 L V8, 255 hp (190 kW; 259 PS) 2000–2005

i bet the diesel is better on gas than the v8 or v10

and i bet the v10 is as good as the v8 it dont have to work as hard

I'm also considering giving my grill and wheels the Plastidip treatment.

My research and the ford guys I talked to it was power stroke or go home.

This. My buddy had a 2002 Excursion 2WD with the 7.3. After adding exhaust and a chip, it got 22 MPG. If not for emissions, Ford never woulda gone to the 6.0. The 7.3 is a rock-solid diesel.
