Incorrect. He had a series of controversies well before that.

If anything, it is a wonder he was not audited earlier.

Out of curiosity -- did anything come of the audits?

Not for that.


I have to say, I would think that virtually all billionaires would be audited more than a few times, simply due to the nature of the complexity of their finances.

Are you kidding? How exactly does that change anything about the timing of the "enemies list" and the resulting government shakedown shortly after?

Nothing came of the audits other than Mr. Vandersloot shelling out roughly $100,000 to comply with the numerous requests. And don't you dare give me any garbage about him being able to afford it.

Horseshat! He had been audited exactly one time in 30 years. Do you dispute that?

I don't care how many or how few times you think anyone should be audited. Your opinion on that matter is worthless and not in one bit related to the questions and scenario I am posing.

Ok let's just say your right and in none of the 100+ meetings Shullman has at the WH it never came up.

Once the IG report was known by the COS and WHC and they were working on a plan to let it out (damage control) they never told the boss? They let him get on TV and proclaim he found out when it came out in the papers? I'm firing some people for allowing me to get blindsided!

I though that the IG thing was ongoing, but I could be wrong.

In any event, you are parsing what he knew too late to have done anything about it, even under your version of events.

But you still didn't answer the question. Why hasn't the COS and WHC been canned? They knew months before it hit the press but never told OBAMA?

What I find incredible is they expect us to believe they went to the white house to organize and plan for the release of the information once they found out that the cat was out of the bag that they were targeting conservatives, but the IRS never informed or worked with the white house while they were targeting conservatives.

No need to ignore LG. You still are going to read a large number of his post. LG may get quoted more than any poster in the politics forum. Posters appear to love to quote LG to bash/correct him.
While most on here does not agree with LG, he does make the politics forum a better forum. I respect LG because he is an oddity on the board. He stands his ground with odds in the 10-1 range opposing him. LG is like a Timex watch. He takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Additional scrutiny of conservative organizations’ activities by the IRS did not solely originate in the agency’s Cincinnati office, with requests for information coming from other offices and often bearing the signatures of higher-ups at the agency, according to attorneys representing some of the targeted groups. At least one letter requesting information about one of the groups bears the signature of Lois Lerner, the suspended director of the IRS Exempt Organizations department in Washington.
