IRS admits to targeting Conservative groups

So from that you infer that the search criteria was to go after TP groups? With none getting their apps denied?

Makes no sense, at any level.

This same red herring again? They were delayed until after the election. Result? Donations are not tax deductible for donors thus donations suffer greatly and org is directly impacted.

No, I am saying who cares who appointed him. Dude is left leaning.

Fact that Bush appointed has no bearing whatsoever. And neither does the fact he is a democrat.

How many were meaningfully delayed in that manner and over that time frame?

I am really not surprised that there might have been a lot of fraud going on with people launching fake websites and attending rallies trying to "raise money for the cause" by invoking the phrase "Tea Party" and making it seem like they were part of the larger network.

Not that they'd welcome it, but the flip side that the real TP organizations might want to consider before jumping all over this is that ensuring the fundraising is legitimate weeds out people trying to just take advantage of the movement to make a few bucks.

This argument still does not clear the situation up. If that is the real case, then why are the conservative groups / tea party being unfairly targeted? Why would all groups that have "progressive", "green" and "forward" in their names for liberal causes not be equally scrutinized?

You know the answer and if you deny it then you have your own issues to deal with.

People will not understand because they will not be told and it will be all passed off as partisan hackery.

Ex. LG's response in this thread.

Exactly. Just imagine LG's response in this thread if it were the other way around.

For now...nothing to see here, pay no attention to the man behind that curtain.

PELOSI: The president doesn't know about everything that is going in every agency in government. Should Mr. Boehner have known because this is the neighborhood in Cincinnati where the IRS office is. I don't think you can hold him accountable for what happened in that IRS office. I think that obviously the public will make its decision about it but that's it. It's a Bush appointee, under his leadership this happened. It was wrong. Let's make sure it doesn't happen again.

I hope to never meet a person who would vote for this woman

I have no problem with the quote.

you really think Boehner should know what goes on in the local IRS office?

even if he was appointed by Bush he was carried over by Obama and he now owns it. Pawning it off on a guy who left office almost 5 years ago is weak but typical

I have no problem with the quote.

the buck passing in calling a leftist IRS head a Bush appointee in an effort to absolve everyone who could be held responsible is OK.

I don't give a crap which group of DC asshats is responsible. I want the larger issue addressed, period.

gtho. This was her stupid ass trying to associate Boehner's name with the issue to get Obama's name away from it. She's pathetic.

Actually, I read it as her sarcastically pointing out the absurdity of the GOP position.

And fairly effectively, at that.
