That was just for qualifying. No pit crew over the wall until the car was stopped.

That foam you see moving is part of the "Safer Barrier" which is a wall with a backing of foam to help cushion the blow from a car impacting. The foam bits can be replaced quickly and fit somewhat loosely so you will see it wobble about.

Yes. So long as the NASCAR techs OK it and he runs above the minimum speed.

He won't be racing for the win since he was in the garage for so many laps. Since this is a non-points race there is no reason to go back out though. In a regular race, you get points according to where you finish, so you have an incentive to get back on the track and run more laps than any other cars that might retire later in the race.

Oooh. Good point. I know that for more crash damage they can put it back out there. I assume that you can replace as many parts as you like so long as it is approved by the techs. Since they do a thorough post race inspection, any problems will be found if they are given an unfair advantage.
