43 Things That Will Make You Feel Old

This article was being discussed on the radio this morning, so I thought I'd link it. The Home Alone thing and the stripped down Nickelodeon Studios probably hit the closest to home for me. I'm only 28, but damn time gets by in a hurry. My high school class had it's ten year reunion last year, and more than anything else, it made me kind of sad how little I'd accomplished in the full decade since I graduated. LOL

44. Your Facebook Feed has fewer pictures of girls showing how hot they are. . .and more pictures of babies, weddings, pets, food and other things that are not girls showing how hot they are.

my youngest son graduates from high school this Saturday

I remember when Magnum PI, the A Team, and Murder, She Wrote were first-run prime time shows

I've seen ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Top Gun, and the original Star Wars trilogy in a theater as they originally appeared

I remember when Kiss unmasked

I've drank New Coke, Pepsi Clear, and Pepsi Free

I remember when Taco Bell's Mexican pizza was called "Pizzazz"

- Reel to reels were still big in my teens
- Eight Track tapes were on their way out but still around
- My 15 yr old son cannot read my hand writing when I use cursive
- Atari gaming system was the sh*t
- First computer at work was a Wang to keep track of fuel use at the motor pool
- We were our father's TV remote control
- When the president came on television, there was no escape

To name a few more

Things that remind me of my age:

We employed several Mexican ranch hands and still do. My earliest memory of one of them was how large his family was. His kids, now have children going to A&M.

I didn't know trix weren't fruit shaped anymore. There went any chance of me ever buying trix again.

I don't go back quite that far but I remember black and white tv and I was the remote control. Also when the channel was changed we had to turn the antennae to help reception.

My antennae was outside on top of the house. We could only get the 3 major networks plus PBS & all channels was a bunch of "snow" on the TV screen. Didn't get cable till 1977 & we were living the good life with TBS Superstation!!

Out in the sticks where I live we could only get 2, 4, and 5. They were all snowy. We could turn the antennae to help a little. We rented a VCR most weekends and would get several movies. A cousin had a video store.

To this day cable is not available here. It's satellite or nothing.
