If you really are looking at an Altima I'd recommend looking at an accord. Top rated sedan in 2011 & 2012. Wife owns one best car hands down we've ever owned. Better resale, better rankings etc.

If you really want a car like that lease it and enjoy it a couple years. If you still love it buy it at the end of the lease.

I'm buying it because I can pay it off once I sell my truck. Sans car payment.

Maintenance cost?

Yes and failures in general on anything but the newest cars. Overly complicated electronics. Parts prices and all the things people who love british cars will still admit sucks. Even the guys on top gear joke about it and they notoriously lean British.
If you want a capable offroad stock truck that has luxury frills go with a Toyota FJ.

If you want different than jeep but offroad capable that's your most reliable option.

Or go jeep and be happy. A grand cherokee is cheaper as reliable and more repairable than either.

We could find you any number of capable offroad, nice inside etc etc and get that same thing accomplished. I've owned a lot of brands I'm not a brand guy but I wouldn't ever let my friends or family buy an older land rover.
