Josh Malone didn't compete because of how much work he's putting in but he told us he's up to 191 pounds and he looks good carrying it. Recruiting-wise, Malone remains very much open right now. Some schools like Tennessee, FSU, ND and others are coming after him hard but he maintains he's open and going to look and visit more schools. Don't be surprised if he releases a top group, around 8 or 10, here in the next week or two as he tries to narrow things down. He's still very interested in Tennessee, but he's also looking at a number of other schools as well.

He'll be a busy man the next few months with the Rivals 5-star challenge and The Opening.

He's mentioned in interviews before Tommy Thigpen was his main recruiter, and 247 says so too. Last I heard he was just starting a relationship with Azzani IIRC

I could be way off though, it's been a long day :lol:

I have no idea, i figured his position coach in college would be a main recruiter and Butch Jones knows he is as important as Hurd is to the class so I bet he is working on him.

My brother works for the ATF.He just told me Tn. should be recruiting Cordels son. I ask wheres he play he said some school in Nashville.He then told me Satan calls the kid every other day,flordia and Vandy call alot.Said his favorite school is Tn.I ask whats Cordels sons last name .He then made my jaw drop by saying Malone.Kids got good blood lines Daddy played at the U back in the day....Just passing along info.

So, he is for sure, Cordelle Malone's son?

Cordelle Malone was one of my high school basketball team mates and a played football with me in junior high. I can see where Josh gets his athleticism. Cordelle was a 6'6 and was a damn good athlete. He played basketball at Cumberland College and then went on to play at a four year school, I think Austin Peay.

I will also add that Cordelle was a very good person who came from a very good family.

My brother is a fan.But doesnt follow recruiting.Just thought it was funny.Cordel use to wk here in Chattanooga but is now wking in Nashville. I told my brother to turn up the heat on pops and give us some help.

Gallatin wide receiver Josh Malone is about as open as they come right now. We've even heard he's having a hard time getting his list under 10 teams. For Malone, Tennessee has been a familiar place as he's visited around a half-dozen times in the past year and we expect for Tennessee to be in his top group if he comes out with one here in the near future as we've heard he may be close to doing that since he's going to be an early enrollee.

Nothing earth shattering here, but I don't think I realized he was going to be an EE.

Would be awesome to have him and Hurd on campus in January.

He did not bleed Orange, but yes, he liked the Vols. he wanted to play basketball and liked the days of Ernie & Bernie, and loved Johnny Darden. I hear it is momma who has to be sold.
