Gun nut, felon, crim record

You do realize the guy in question already was legally prohibited from having that weapon...or any other firearm for that matter.

Selvin was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and resisting arrest without violence. Court records show Selvin was arrested last year on felony charges of fleeing and eluding police, obstructing police and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Yep...criminals get guns in spite of the law because that's how they roll.

[...] illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon[...]

That little passage says enough. He was a felon, so he was not allowed to have a gun, period. Doesn't matter the model. He was breaking the law by possessing one; no need to ask whether or not that particular model was needed.

So how'd he get it?

You guys are ceding too much to LG on these two stories.

First story: guy flees from the cops while driving an unregistered vehicle. For this, this guy is charged with a felony and his right to own and possess a firearm is indefinitely revoked by the state. That alone is crazy. He was neither a violent offender nor was his prior felony gun-related. Further, if someone comes to the door of my house to ***** at me, why shouldn't I be allowed to have a firearm in my hands inside my house and on my property?

Second story: James Gilkerson, of whom there is no evidence of a prior record or mental illness, just decides to open fire on cops. Should his right to own firearms have been revoked previously to that incident? If one is not arguing that, then what does this video have to do with anything?

Again, this thread reduces to nothing more than LG is an idiot who cannot even come up with good cases to defend his moronic stance.

By breaking a law(s). I don't understand your point/confusion. A convicted criminal broke a law to obtain and possess a firearm in which he is not legally allowed to possess; said criminal was caught with it, and subsequently arrested.

Someone broke a law and was caught. Have I missed something?

Those people that followed him to his house, what did they expect really?

Depends. If he had it prior then it was illegal for him to have it after. (this is a simple matter of law and separate from TRUT's observations) If he didn't then whatever means he used in obtaining the weapon (it really matters not what model) after being convicted was illegal regardless how.

Are you really this dense to think that because someone cant lawfully possess a firearm, then there must be no way for them to have one??? Seriously? You Libs think that you can wave a magic wand and all of a sudden all firearms will be magically in the right hands........criminals dont give a **** about a gun control law, they will get them no matter what.

His name was James Gilkerson, if you care to read more about it.

By the way, he had books on bomb-making and maintaining a secret arsenal.

He also had eight 40-round magazines with him in the car. Explains I suppose how he managed to fire off 37 rounds in seconds.

Middlefield police still do not know what caused man to fire on 2 officers (video, audio, slideshow) | cleveland.com

Point?

I know how to make bombs, thanks to the US Army.

I have what some might consider an arsenal.

Should I lose my right to have guns?

I approve of this message.
