I'm just curious, GoalTenda. How did you get to be a Louisville and Kentucky fan? Are you a native of Kentucky and support all things Kentucky? Or maybe you went to both schools? I'm not attacking. It's unusual, so I'm naturally curious. To give an analogy, it's like someone having UNC and Duke icons on here. haha!

This year will be like '96 when the team was clowning everyone they played by 30 and the only talk around town was how ugly the jerseys were....people have to complain about something

I know that you're Mr. Logical on the Politics thread, so I understand your bashing. However, Kansas is losing 4 or 5 of their top scorers. If they couldn't do it this year, they shouldn't do it next year either. Now, Kansas always performs well in the Big 12, because it's a bull**** bball conference, but the NCAA is a different story.

Your ass must be hurt since UNC can never beat Self and his team from such a ****ty conference.

Yes, KU loses their entire starting five. However, if Wiggins joined Tharpe and Ellis, I would say that KU has a great shot at reaching the Final Four, and I would make the claim largely due to Self's coaching ability. FSU with Wiggins, however, does not strike me as a team with Final Four potential, much less championship potential.

Thus, your statement comparing KU's chances to FSU's chances is absurd.

I'll just leave it be. Kansas is a great program and has a great tradition. I don't think much of the Big 12, or the Big 8, for that matter, but Kansas is without question a great program. You should expect to win the title every year.

Here's a tip, there's only one basketball to play with. You better hope they can play together and not be selfish or it won't be any different from last season. I just think you're being silly for predicting them to blow teams out by 30 points and winning an National title when they haven't even stepped on the floor yet. Yes you guys will have a lot talent this season and there's no reason you shouldn't make the NCAA tournament. If Cal can't win with all the talent he has coming in then there's something wrong there. There shouldn't be any excuses from UK fans this year.

He's not pandering, he's right. I'm not one of the people saying "well maybe they'll struggle just like this year"...they won't. They'll be in the top 5 all year long. But they're not going to come in and go undefeated and beat everyone by 30. And since they inevitably are going to have some tough games, the one against #15-20 Tennessee is a great candidate to be one of them.

Then again, to keep it within 25, Tennessee doesn't really even have to give them a tough game; they just have to avoid a total collapse. It's a pretty bad wager for you, but you already made it, so it's fine with me.

What's wrong? Does it say, "If he can't win a title with THIS team, he's never going to win one?" Because as of April 2012, that argument is invalid.

People are discounting Calipari's accomplishments before they even happen now, and I don't get why people on here are so desperate to act like he's about to be on the hot seat when he's nowhere close.

I like you VKAman. And you're a respectful poster towards me. However, what was wrong with the post you quoted? Cal will have at least four or five guys that should be straight to the NBA, regardless of his input. If the team doesn't come together, then that is a direct effect of Cal. He knows what he's getting into, and he recruits as such.

My dad is a UK fan and my mom was a big Louisville fan. #House-divided. I always root for UK when they play each other. I actually graduated from a small private college in West Kentucky. I am an admitted in-state homer.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Louisville joins until the season after the next. Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Pitt are this year though.

Hey, realUT. Seems like I've been having to do this a lot here lately (and that's my fault for creating such situations), but I would also like to apologize to you for the harsh words yesterday. Seems like I can't do anything but get in fights on here lately. I shouldn't have taken your comments so personally. My apologies. I'm probably going to stop posting as much as I do. Just gets me in trouble.
