Yeah a comma would have been nice, but to be honest, I have learned to not expect the beat grammar from people on the-- as he said-- "interwebs".

It’s actually amazing to me how many new coaches who are at FSU right now have known or were actively recruiting this kid. Sanders, Graham, Pruitt, and Sal plus whoever else is on their staff that was recruiting Tennessee.

“I mean, he has all the upcoming seniors recruiting hard, and they have something to believe in now that he’s here,” Gaulden said. “That’s good to see.”
“I just like (Florida State’s) tradition and how they just put a lot of defensive players into the NFL draft, and I just like where they’re coming from, as far as how they play on the field,” said Gaulden, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 40 safety in the 247Composite. “You like to see that kind of stuff as a defensive player.”
“I had a great performance at the track and was able to catch the first half of the game,” Gaulden said. “I was able to go down to the locker room and talk to all the coaches before I went back out to the track, so it was an overall good experience. I talked to Coach Jones, (defensive coordinator John) Jancek and (linebackers coach Tommy) Thigpen. It was quick since it was at halftime.”

He has continued to stay in frequent contact with Thigpen, who’s serving as Gaulden’s primary recruiter for the Vols and has built a particularly strong relationship with him over the past few months.“That’s who I talk to every week — on a weekly basis, for sure,” Gaulden said. “We’re really tight. I mean, he might be one of the realest guys that I know. He’s a mentor. I mean, no matter what college (I attend), I know I’ll keep in touch with him.”

Unlike many of the teams recruiting him, Tennessee has expressed interest in playing Gaulden at cornerback rather than safety. “They’re talking strictly corner for me,” he said. “If that doesn’t go well, you know, they can always put me at safety. But they really like me, on my frame, as a cornerback, so we’ll see where that goes. That’s fine (with me). Like I said, I feel like I’m an athlete. I play the wide-receiver position here (in high school). I can play the cornerback position. I can play the safety position. It’s all about the love for the game.”

It won’t be long, Gaulden said, before he’s ready to narrow the list of teams he’s considering. “By the summer, I’m trying to trim that list down very low so I can get ready to commit pretty soon — probably before the end of the summer,” he said.

I kinda worry about that FSU visit because I'm sure they will have Ramsey dainted at his hip.

Still think Gaulden is a Vol.

I will be very happy when the program demands total respect from in-state kids again. Hopefully that is underway now. RG is a player of need at CB. He has the talent to play early and well. There was a time when UT would offer guys of his quality and they would accept immediately. Now, they have to think about it and build trust that the program is really on the rise again and can prepare them for a shot at the NFL. Time for Slive to get this SEC/ESPN deal back in the spotlight to offset the increased credibility of the ACC.
