There's fluff everywhere. Baseball is bad for it, too. Thing is, that commentary (read: announcers essentially inventing mindsets based on end results) is not directed at us (by us I mean those that know the stats, are sick of that sort of thing, etc). It's directed at people casually watching a game and wanting to hear that same voice each time. Normalcy is welcome by most, and I fall into that category sometimes, as well.
There's a lot of dead air in sports broadcasting. I rip on them, but I would likely crash and burn, at least at first.
