Agreed, but the Uncle seems too willing to talk and quick to just say they are idiots.

What is amazing to me is that they apparently thought they would be able to go unnoticed at least for awhile. Boston would have been the last place I would have thought they would have been by now.

Totally speculating but I the more and more I think about it the harder it is for me to believe its AQ.

1) Although the bombing was terrible, it wasn't "Send two dudes to America for five years" terrible, imo.

2) Not a suicide bombing.

3) Then the one guy robs a 7-11 when his pic gets out, carjacks some dude then lets him go. Just not very AQ.

4) They stick around town? If they were AQ, don't they either run away right after the bombing or go out in a blaze of glory?


Again, I'm speculating, but it just seems to me like its not anything like what we've seen from AQ in the past.

Yep, and direction of travel has been East to West. I'm guessing they planted one bomb on Comm Ave, went across the bridge to MIT, were spotted, killed cop, fled west, needed a slurpee, continue to flee west, all the way into Watertown.

I think it's pretty clear the Uncle wasn't close to them, so anything other than announcing his shame, I think he should be taken w a grain of salt.

I felt the same way here in Atlanta after 9/11. My commute (at the time) took me past Hartsfield every day and it was eerie to see all those planes sitting on the tarmac, not moving...

I guess there is no point in trying to understand people this crazy.

Maybe they felt they could lay low enough in Boston to cause at least one more if not two more catastrophes. And, since they have been in Boston for at least five years, they were probably familiar with the area and where to place the devices, and might have even been felt comfortable staying in Boston, than being new dudes in some community elsewhere.
