Lol, so should we expect another dumb-a** tweet from Franklin here soon crying about that comment? "If you think our game was that lame....well,then....your.....lame. You will just have to settle for a lesser degree which doesn't happen to be any more less than ours unless you are in the medical field!"

to me at the MBA Doug Hall Relays that the vandy spring game was "lame." There own words. I know this is hard to believe but they really did tell me this. I laughed and just said go vols. Derek told me he would definitely be at the vols spring game too.

Bates, Hamilton, Davis, Moo-Moo, and MClisse. five guys we have a good shot at right now, of gladly take 3/5 or even 1, but I believe all will but/maybe not Hamilton. I think the things he said today really were good for us. The position coach, playing time, and family atmosphere were the three things he wanted. So we definitely have a shot. But I think the other four will commit if we will take them, which I see no reason why they wouldn't.

I did not know it had been up since April 1st. I did think it strange and that why I posted to see what was going on. So I guess you could say I was ripe for being punked. Looking at the schedule there are plenty of 6 or 7 win scenarios I can see that would be damn good seasons.

Do I want that all the time? No...but a 7 win season with a big upset as 1 of the 7? I'll take it and be quite satisfied. That would be a fantastic base to build from.

I'm much more than the average fan, and I believe we can win 8 games. That is most likely with a bowl win. I don't think that's asking too much at all after seeing what Vandy, and Ole Miss, and TxA&m did last year.

Now TxA&m is a different situation bc they already had so much talent, but still first year under a new system.

We easily have more talent that Vandy and Ole Miss. And although we have a hell of a schedule, we should still be favorites in 6 games, and a good coach will have us winning a game or two that we shouldn't, imo.

I know you probably weren't directing your post at me, but a few pages back I posted that I expect 8 wins this year so I just decided to add my opinion. :hi: I sure hope no average fans would really expect anything more than 8 wins though. That's disappointment just waiting to happen.

Smokey, I think if fans are going to judge Butch by whether he can win 8 games this year, they are misguided. He very well may, but I think setting that as a baseline expectation with this team and schedule is not realistic. Lots of quality coaches had 6 win seasons in their first year turning around major programs (Saban, Muschamp, Carroll, etc.).

I think I'll get tired of these forums next fall if we only win 6 and I start seeing fire Butch threads, or "Hart shoulda hired Gruden since he was there for the taking" threads. Ugh. People need to realize turnarounds take time.
