Why are you defending a completely illogical and irrational tweet by that idiot ? If he is so smart and so bright , stay off twitter the night you hear from the biggest recruit you want commits to the school he should have considered number 1 in the first place. It's baffling he is so surprised by PKs question. He set himself up for it , he tweeted it , he knew what he was doing when . To think he is that "ignorant " is just beyond me .

How is a coaches tweet claiming that his school is the best choice illogical??

You think BJ has any tweets saying tenn is the best choice?

I think it's less of his sales job and more of the way he downs other people and schools to raise his up. Not to mention his sour grapes attitude and seeming like he bullies HS kids.

Yeah, I agree that Franklin is selling his program, but it's clear as day that that particular tweet was directed at Hurd, even if it was a day or two before the announcement. Not only would it most likely coincide with the timeframe in which Franklin might have gotten the news from Hurd (or those around him) that he was going to UT, but it was also far too pointed and transparent for it to have nothing to do with that particular situation. The fact that Franklin also dodged the question on air only adds further doubt over the tweet being about anything else.

And since it was directed at Hurd, it's highly unbecoming of a head football coach.

$100 says CBJ doesn't put down every other school with his tweets. Doubt Butch says not going to UT is "Settling". Franklin's a doucher, Bruin. It's not opinion, it's a fact.

we got Richmond precisely because his Dad was threatened because he was opposed to segregation. After Richmond's pro career he wanted to go to Law school and Bear Bryant heard about it and got Richmond a spot in the class. In those days Coach Bryant got to recommend 3 people for Alabama's law school each year. I would guess that everyone he recommended got in.

This is kind of what I was going to say. That if he would have actually of just said, "Yes, as a matter of fact I 100% believe Vanderbilt is the best all around school in the Country, and kids ARE settling when they go elsewhere." then that would've been the best response that probably would've turned the tables on the host pressing him, and actually got him some good recruiting press out of it.

I will say that I think he is incredibly intimidated by bUTch right now! He can't take the heat! He'll be gone after next year once he doesn't improve on last year, and gets stomped by bUTch to cap it off! (Not fired obviously, but I think he bails for some other job at a bigger school.)

I'm breaking my "this is my last post on it" promise, but you're right. The fact that he wasn't Mr. Fun Loving Guy that he's been the last few years tagged along with the emotionally tweeting right after Butch ko'd his ass for the biggest recruit in Tn this year this early in the cycle, makes me think that pressure is getting to ole Jimmy.
