Few quotes from CBJ

JONES: A dropped pass is the equivalent of a turnover in our offense. We had five drops on
Saturday.

JONES: We let Nate Peterman take a couple of reps with the ones today because it is has been tough to evaluate him with the twos

JONES: our defense needs to learn that in order to play great defense you have to bring the mental effort and toughness every practice.

JONES: There has to be a sense of urgency. Now you are sore, tired. This is when you improve and get better. All mental conditioning.

JONES: We can't have TFLs when we run the football.

JONES: We want AJ Johnson to play with his eyes and win the junction point, get off blocks. That is what separates players at the next level.

JONES: Right now we want AJ to focus on defense. I know he likes scoring TDs but he has to learn how to play winning football as an LB first.

JONES: We need some individuals in the back-end of our defense to step up and lead by example.

With CBJ a little concerned about punt returner I wonder if any of the freshmen coming in this summer could help there and who they might be.

Happy to see Peterman get some snaps with the first team. Also think Croom will be one if the keys to the offense next year given the dynamics I have seen.

"Also though there were a number of misreads by our backs. A lot of times our backs are bouncing the ball outside when they really need to take their run-reads, lower their pad level and get three or four yards. I told our backs that sometimes a one-yard gain may be the best run you have in the scrimmage. We can't have TFL's, we can't have negative yardage plays when we run the ball. -Butch Jones

Butch Jones conceded that the defensive front got the better of their counterparts on the other side of the ball on Saturday, though it wasn't something that he called a surprise. He did however note that the entire fault for a general lack of production didn't lie with the line play.

"No, it wasn't surprising. Our offensive line plays exceptionally high. That's something we have to do a better job with and they're doing a better job of it," Jones said, pointing out a consistent problem he's seen this spring that cropped up again on Saturday.

I had to post this. I don't agree with it, but I had to post it nonetheless.

Lol, that list is laughable. Don't get me wrong I hate Florida, but Muschamp is higher than 12 after taking a team that many were predicting to be ~.500 to a BCS bowl. Also, don't get the Mullen love. If Miss. State does not take a step forward this year miss state fans have a legitimate argument for getting rid of him. James Franklin is also way overrated, you should have to beat multiple teams with a winning record in a season before you are considered a top 5 sec coach.

I agree completely. I also have no idea how Les Miles is that low. I'm pretty sure entire career at LSU he has had 0 seasons below 10 wins, he has a couple SECC to his name as well as a NC. Sure, he makes terrible decisions at times, and he hasn't beaten Bama when it matters, but I don't think that justifies a bottom-half ranking.

Whoever wrote the article wasn't thinking clearly.
