@TexasTsunami Manti Te'o just ran a 4.75 forty while carrying his girlfriend on his back! #NotreDameProDay

Boom. Guess she dropped a few lbs on that spring break diet.

I wonder why mooch and MI didnt have Hunter out there, I'd put him above Kenny Still, Kenny is a good ball player. I know they didn't rank them, but mise well take the threeish UT boyz. Man I hope the colts get daRogers, Hunter, or Allen. CP will be gone already :(

Impressive, good work Devrin.:hi:

That is good work. Devrin gets routinely trashed on this board, but I really admire his work ethic and determination. He gives it everything he has. He's a wonderful role model and I think he'll be solid contributor this year.

Kind of off topic, but the Jayson Swain show might be interesting today:

Jayson Swain‏@JaysonSwain

Gerald Jones will talk about his college career at UT and the TRUTH surrounding the Gabe Wright to Auburn controversy.

bump.

Jones coming on at 5:00 if anyone wants to tune in and summarize for us

Not sure what to make of that. He emphasizes Bowles has a long way to go but is very coachable.

I think it has more to do with how demanding he is on the WRs than how good of a player Bowles is. You have to account for the fact that they've only had a handful of practices with these kids, so the fact that Bowles is working hard and doing what he's asked is a good sign for the rest of spring and summer practice.

Does G. Jones know how to do anything but run slow, & gripe and moan?????:salute:

Haha Boom.

Vols coach Butch Jones to speak in Cleveland - WRCBtv.com | Chattanooga News, Weather & Sports

The Cleveland Rotary Club and Tennessee Sports Radio are answering the June 7 event in nearby Athens, Tenn., featuring Alabama coach Nick Saban speaking to the Chamber of Commerce by having new Tennessee coach Butch Jones in attendance for a "Cleveland Rocks Butch Jones" rally that same night at Bradley Central High School. Former UT quarterback Erik Ainge will emcee the event, with proceeds going to charity; tickets are available at Tennessee Sports Radio.

Officials from both host organizations make no secret that the Jones rally was created deliberately to offset the Saban visit, and they're predicting a turnout of about 2,000 in comparison to 1,000 expected in Athens.

Pretty cool answer from Paul. I asked him all these questions, just to see what he thought.

Could either one of you guys give me a paragraph or so of how you think Butch has handled UT so far?

What was your initial reaction when you figured out he had been hired?

After the introductory Press Conference, how much did your tune change of him?

Butch seems like a man who can do no wrong at UT right now, could you tell me a couple things that you would like to see different about him?

When Butch made the statement "we will have the best staff in America"... do you guys believe that still holds true?

Since he has been at UT, have you actually even heard anything negative about him?

And lastly, Biggest similarity and difference between Butch and Dooley so far?

Thanks guys.

My initial reaction was, 'Interesting.' The reason I said that was because of his lack of ties to the SEC and lack of name recognition in the recruiting world. I thought Hart was going to get an SEC guy because he's an SEC guy at an SEC school. But, look at Saban and Meyer. Each didn't have any SEC experience and I'd say that worked out well. I am a big picture guy so I didn't want to pass judgement and still don't. He hasn't coached a game. (He's recruited better early on than I thought.)

Nothing changed in my opinion of him. Good press conference, but so was Dooley's. Though the only mistake he made was the best staff quote. Thought it was just something people could always slap back in his face.

Honestly, I'm not sure there's a big thing I could see him doing better. He's recruiting very well right now, this spring has gone well from getting the guys to buy in, the alumni and fans seemed excited and the former players are buying in and that's helping on the recruiting trail as we've seen. It will continue to help.

I think this staff works very, very well together and they understand the expectations of Jones and how everything is supposed to work. They seem like a very cohesive unit. Now, I can look around the country and show you staffs that have had more success and lots of longevity. It's too early to well whether he has the best staff in America and I'd say he probably doesn't, but they work very, very well together or have thus far.

You hear something negative about everyone.

I can't draw any real deep similarities off the top of my head. I think the biggest is the personal recruiting Butch does. Dooley was much more of a manager or recruiting coordinator type of guy when it came to the board and who was a take, etc., but he didn't do a ton of personal recruiting. Butch does a lot. From writing letters, to talking on the phone or facebook, whatever. He's always working the recruiting trail it seems.

On a side note, and I do this in fairness to everyone, but I hope that people don't take the great momentum the Vols have right now on the recruiting trail and in other areas to believe this is a quick fix. It's not. Reality is this team is 16-21 the past three season and lost a lot of talent from last season, a lot.

After this season the Vols will lose the starting offensive and defensive line, plus three more d-linemen, starting linebackers, likely 3 out of the first 5, or more. It's a multi-year rebuilding process and I hope that people don't expect a ton of wins this season and maybe even next looking at just how the dice is falling. And that doesn't mean an SEC championship in year 3. I know people point to Saban at Bama, Chizik at Auburn, Meyer at Florida, etc. in saying year 2 you should have it rolling. All those situations are vastly different than this one. I would just hope people have some patience for Jones and his crew because like I said, they seem to be heading in the right direction four months into the job.

Ok, that's all I have.
