I get that they are going to face the best DBs in the country, so the WRs must be very good athletes. But how do you define who's the best athlete for WR, if not by the routes they run and the passes they catch in practice? Recruiting stars? Jones' system relies on consistent precision execution. Bottom line is that the WRs must work hard and learn their jobs if they want to start.

I get what you're saying. I see both sides of this argument. But Break, weren't you saying the same thing last year at this time about ZRo?

Point being what again? Those guys aren't even better than ZRo. I really don't want to get started but I hope the running game punishes people. I have absolutely no faith in D.Young making plays in open field like some of you.....

I hope so too, but how do you know they're not better than ZRO? That guy was atrocious for 3 years. We haven't seen a thing from Blanc or Carter yet. They may be awful, they may be great. Blanket statements are dumb IMO.

Carter isn't anywhere near the athlete ZRO was. Blanc isn't the WR ZRO was. And Young, smh........No comment. :)

He played well, but he was allowed to because of JH and CP, lets not forget about that. Where was he when JH went down 2.years ago?

Devrin wasn't helped by the play calls to him last year either though. All he saw was I formation up the middle (not gonna work) and screen passes. (Not gonna work.)

I have more faith in this staff (with the spread) to put him in better positions.

If those 3 are our starters at WR, then there would be nobody in our league that would trade WR units with us....

Would you say the WRs that CBJ has on the roster now are at least on the level of Louisville or Cincy? Name some of them if you can without googling.

If you answer, yes - Louisville beat Florida badly and won 11 games last season. Cincy won 10. We had multiple future NFL top draft choices on our roster and had three losing seasons in a row. Defense was only bad for one of those seasons. If you answer, no - I can't help you. our receivers were rated higher as a group coming out of HS than theirs.

Talented individual players do not always make for winning seasons. Great execution of well designed schemes and plays by reasonably talented/well conditioned players that play as a unified team is what wins games at a higher level.

I really don't care what system he's in personally.......

They wouldn't win with those guys in SEC play. Don't fool yourself......

I'm not sanguine about that situation either, but the coaches are in better positions to judge performance than I am. I hope the younger WRs push and get PT, but I'm not going to carp unless the players on the field aren't getting it done. Long way to go before kickoff.

What are you talking about again? Because I said the young guys need to step it up or we'll be in trouble in my first statement. What point are you trying to make?

Just what I already said, which is sort of agreement with you. I'll be surprised if the current ones are starters all season, because I think and certainly hope that the younger WRs have so much potential talent. But the coaches decide who are the most consistent performers executing plays. I'm not going to second guess them. If somebody got it in practice but not in games, the coaches will know what to do, not me.

Anyone expecting us to compete for a championship by yr 2 is blind and ignorant. Losing our entire online and defensive front 7 after this year.

So you think the NC run will be 2013? I am with you! 15 yrs after our last one is long enough :)

Doc certain posters don't read well. I said taking a step towards that direction in year two. Losing the D-front isn't like we're losing the monsters of midway. Maggitt and AJ will be back along with J.Williams, Carr, O'Brien, Lewis, Vereen, the other Florida kid and whoever we land in this class. I'm not going to say we're going to take a step back in year two of a system. Especially with an experienced offense at all the skill positions. Pair, Kerbyson, Jackson, Sanders, and Crowder should function at the least. What year is Bullard. TEs should be a strength after this year too. Downs and A.J would do well with a seasoned signal caller in year two in the system. Plus Paulk and Hurd will provide immediate help at a position of need.

A few different reasons why Lville won: Teddy is better QB than Tyler Bray and any on UF or UT roster. Charlie Strong is a Top 5-7 defensive coach...top 3 when he has over 30+ days to gameplan. L'ville also has a roster full of Fl kids and a few of those WR will play on Sundays.

Let's be straight up, Florida was sleep out there. Had you all had the same intensity as in the other big games Louisville would've gotten work. But I agree about Strong as a coach. No.1 Defensive game planner to me with 30+ days(yes ahead of Saban)

Butch is 2-1 vs Strong.

Just stop. Teddy is a good qb and has done well at Louisville. But, he is no where near the qb bray is. My brother is a Florida fan and even he will admit that. You didn't come prepared and you got beat. That's how the game works. Stop making excuses and succumb to reality.

Why do you think they call it the "Fulmer Cup" my friend. UT has always been known to have rowdy ballplayers. To be fair, all of the SEC teams have their fair share of knuckleheads.

The guy who started it is a UF fan and known UT hater. I wouldn't try overthinking this one.

It's worth mentioning that UT has never won it. I like how rival fans try to throw in who it is named after, when they've won it or have come closer than UT to winning it.
