During team periods your starting defense in the nickel consisted of*Daniel Hood,Daniel McCullers,*Marlon Walls,*Jacques Smith, Dontavis Sapp,*Channing Fugate, LaDarrell McNeil, Byron Moore, Riyahd Jones, Justin Coleman and*Jaron Toney.
With Gray out, Riyahd Jones has an opportunity in front of him to lock up a starting spot at corner opposite Justin Coleman, who appears to be holding himself to a higher standard as the likely No. 1 corner on the roster for 2013.
During team periods the defense made great effort swarming to the football. In return for their efforts, Coach Butch Jones came over the intercom and rewarded them by making quarterback*Nathan Peterman*live for three downs. Those two downs were two running plays and a read option where*A.J. Johnson*pushed Peterman out of bounds.
Linebacker Channing Fugate had a great showing in one-on-one tackling drills against the running backs and tight ends where the offense was trying to gain 10 yards. Fugate did not surrender a point in the drills, where Jones kept score

Glad to see Fugate is stepping up. Also, glad AJ is not involved in our nickel package.

Not wanting to be a jerk or anything, but this is the "Recruiting Forum: Football Talk" thread. This is used for discussion about the actually playing of football (not just recruiting) instead of having to wander into the zoo that is the Football Forum. Just an FYI :hi:

This thread is the "Recruiting Forum Football Talk" thread. It is in the recruiting forum so we can discuss UT FB w/o having to go the the FB forum to do so. Many of us don't go to the FB forum and choose to have our discussions here. The mods were kind enough to allow this thread to exist.

WOW!!!!! I am so proud that I actually beat Ron on a post!!!

Edit: Thanks BaldBiker, in my excitement over beating Ron to something I completely lost my mind :hi:

maybe if more contributed the football forum would become a better place for discussion?
