5:16 PM PT -- We're told Wayne is being given his last rites ... with his family surrounding him to say their goodbyes.

Lil Wayne is in ICU in critical condition after suffering yet another seizure, and we're told it doesn't look good ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... the 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. Tuesday night after suffering multiple seizures. He was released Wednesday but just hours later one of his bodyguards found him in his room, on the floor and unconscious.

Sources say there's evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.

We're told Wanye's stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.

It would be his own fault. Pretty dumb to go on a codeine binge after bring released from the hospital.

Plus, his music is awful.

Exactly how i feel. I do feel bad for his family and kids and people who depend on him and stuff

I haven't liked any of his music the last several years, but I hate to hear about anyone struggling with health issues.

Two questions:

1) While having a seizure, why would you put a patient in restraints? Medically, don't they just watch you until a certain point and then medicate you?

2) Why would you pump a patient's stomach 3 times? Seems like if they pumped his stomach once, they would have gotten everything.

Restraining during the seizure insures not falling out of the bed, not losing an IV, things like that, but it all depends on the severity of the seizures.

as for the stomach pump, I have no logical answers to that.

I don't like most of wayne's current stuff, but his early work was decent, and I still listen to some of it occasionally. He never hit me as a great storyteller or lyricist like some of the greats, but he had a song or two that was good, and he'd have almost one line a song that made you go "Wait... did he just say that? that's brilliant."

I view him as a wasted talent almost in the industry, never lived up to his brief flashes that he showed on compilations and his early work.

but I sure hope he doesn't die. Survive a bullet wound only to die from codeine.

Thanks for the answers. Those two things just jumped out on me from the original report as BS.

If he doesn't learn his lesson it's only a matter of time before be goes on another binge.

He's quite possibly one of the dumbest human beings alive, so I doubt he'll learn anything from it. His brain is fried.

Quite the opposite. Of course if you weren't just talking out your a** making assumptions you'd understand that.

I agree with this man here. I consider myself fairly well versed in the rap and hip hop industry (punnerific) and Wayne may not be one of the best writers/lyricists, however he does do something very not standard among most artists. He doesn't write his lyrics down. Hasn't for years. Now, you may not think thats impressive, but on average these guys produce probably 30-50 songs a year, some like kanye or others do more than that, and the majority of them don't get produced on cd's, but lots of them get done live or released as EPs or singles.

Now, think about this. The average rap song has 3 verses, a hook, possibly a refrain or some other extra section. But let's just go for the verses. I would wager 80% of songs anymore are 16 bars per verse. Thats 48 lines per song, on average roughly. For historical example, a sonnet has 14 lines. Shakespeare published 154 sonnets in his day that we know of. 154 * 14 is 2156 lines, so roughly 2150 lines, again in a rhyming pattern not unlike modern rap.

Wayne has records of 942 songs that he wrote on his own. That's not counting compilations where he did a guest verse (so no Down, no Travis barker, no Forever, no Swagger like us, etc). Now, 942 * 16 = 15,072

So, in his career, just on verses alone, just on solo work alone, no hooks (which he wrote many because he thinks he can sing), wayne has published more lines (which are on average LONGER also than a sonnet) than shakespeare on a scale of 6.9 to 1.

And I would wager he has 90% or more memorized or could have them in passable form within a few minutes each live. I may be wrong, but I never heard any stories of shakespeare reciting all 154 sonnets from memory, but I have seen wayne do 20 songs live from 4 or 5 different albums.

I'm not saying he isn't an idiot in terms of life, because he is. But to call the man ignorant is a far cry. I would go as far as to call him a savant in this regard for memory. Which most people do not tie with ignorance, but intelligence. And considering his life from birth, its a wonder he can even speak to begin with.

and now I'm gonna go drink heavily because I just wrote a short essay comparing one of the worst rappers I know to one of the greatest playwrights of all time in a favorable fashion.

This was a great breakdown that absolutely does nothing for the world.

Well done sir. I thoroughly enjoyed this while thinking "Man, he must have been damn bored."

There were early reports of him being in a coma. This would be very likely if he OD'd on codeine as most pain killer OD's will naturally result in a coma simply due to the drugs ingested. My ex OD'd on Fioricet, she was on a ventilator and unconscious for 27 hours.
