Agreed. Pfizer and all the drug companies should be held responsible. I'm against suing
People and companies because that's also a cop out and only something people get away with in Americas legal system but they need to be held responsible. The side effects and dependency on drugs is a first world problem but it hurts our society. People need to deal with their own shat by themselves. I won't even take pain pills unless needed down to Tylenol . The drugs they give people do more damage in the long run than help.

Don't forget the number one pill pushers in the country. Some doctors will dole out pills rather than actual help. Includes medical and mental health care.

Is it possible that the "adults" realized there was a problem, looked for help, was told to take a drug then after time passed, their mind got f'ed up even more and are not capable of knowing what to do?

Just asking, because I don't know.

Absolutely. I know a few and people calling, painting with the big broad brush, them lazy is bull ****. Can't understand a place you've never been.

Again, lack of effort isn't a mental illness. Lack of effort to try to change habits. Lack of effort to stop watching crap tv all day. Lack of effort to take 5 minutes to get dressed. Lack of effort to want anything different.

You're describing symptoms of manic-depression. They just happen to coincide with your/my definition of lazy. I'm not arguing. Just playing devil's advocate.

This is absolutely possible. It happens everyday. Adding benzos and opiates to someone who already has a chemical imbalance is a recipe for disaster.

I think that's what some don't understand. Chemical imbalance causing misfires everywhere.

i beg to differ you think a derpressed person wants to be depressed . and you will never under stand this and really the only ones that do are the ones that have been threw it our are understanding..

and do not think you get my point the same trait that causes seizures could be the same trait that causes panic attacts or depression ..it could be vitamins or inharitited trats pardon my spelling or take a kid with autism that could be a trait of this i do not know but i think they are all connected like a.d.d

Then I'd hear him saying in the back of my head I need to get it together.

The way I look at it is that I had a great father for 23 years which is more than a lot of people get. Maybe that's just a coping mechanism for now, idk, but I feel like I'm handling it the right way instead of going to a doctor who tells me I need meds.
thats great you can do this.. but not everyone thinks a like

Again, I understand manic depressant. Have been around it my whole life. I also understand using it as a ready excuse at every opportunity, popping a pill or two, then passing out because its easier to do then try to do better.
I know you are playing devils advocate and there are many differing opinions on mental illness. I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just saying that mine is pretty set in this specific example.

I don't know how you can assume an entire group of people wants the same thing. That's naive.
Addiction is a disease. Some people give effort to try and help, some dont. Same deal here.

The entire first post is obviously about my specific experience. I know mental illness is real. I also know that some people with it try to do their best, some try a little, some don't try it all, and some have no control.
Its as simple as that.

How would I know the effort level of every manic depressant has always been poor. My 2nd paragraph mentioning 30 years, etc are pretty distinct descriptions for someone to assume I broad brushed an entire population.
People get defensive about it if others challenge aspects of the disease. I get that. I just speak my mind though. It takes me to suggest getting dressed at 3 pm and what do you know, it happens. I shouldn't have to even suggest it. And she knows it.
