Vandys ol coach said today on 1045 that they own the state in recruiting... And refused to say Knoxville or UT... Just said that other school...

I'm all for competition and rivalry. But this has become childish. Everyone associated with Vandy is refusing to say UT.

I seriously hope Jones and UT make a loud and clear statement in the game this year.

Let them talk. Jones won't say anything of that nature, he'll keep it classy through the offseason and do our talking on the field when vandy comes walking into Knoxville this year.

Outside of Vandy's bookstore or team shop, every sports store in Nashville has and always will have 4 times as much UT gear as Vandy gear. Own the state? Hell they don't even own their own city or stadium when it comes to measuring against Rocky Top.

That's kinda what I meant. Orange should be in every uniform ever worn at Tennessee IMO. I know not all sports follow that though..

Here is what I have been thinking in regards to uniforms. Make the Orange "cool" again for the players.

In other words, use it as a reward.

In the off season, only team captains get to wear orange (it should be an honor). As other players excel in the weight room, in the class room, on the practice field, they earn the right to wear orange (either around the facility, or even on campus).

It could be a helluva motivational tool, if done correctly.

I wonder if during the 2020 season, they'll do a black uniform to pay homage to the 1920 UT football team that was the last team to wear almost an exclusively black uniform? I think that would be kind of cool. It's not everyday you get to celebrate a centennial anniversary for something.
